Scobe's Quick Tip #71
Video poker machines and the various video poker games on them are not like normal table poker played against other people.
In video poker, you are not trying to beat an opponent, you are merely trying to make the best five-card hand. Therefore, never keep kickers, the way you would in regular poker.
The machine can't be bluffed!

Scobe's Quick Tip #72
You should never gamble with money that could be used for other, more important things.
How do you know which money is which if you keep all your money in the same accounts? You don't. It is wise, therefore, to create a separate bank account for gambling money. Add to it a little at a time over time.
This way, you'll only be gambling with money set aside for the purpose!
