Movies can have a profound effect on a person's psyche.
For example, many blackjack players enjoying a streak of luck will refer
to themselves as "Rainman" alluding to the Dustin Hoffman character in
the movie of the same name. Also, rumor has it that when James Bond bet
#17 in roulette in one of the early Bond movies, that number became the
most wagered upon number ever since.

Are some people better crapshooters than others? Or is it all just
random?
Well, if you ask the folks in Las Vegas about Stanley Fujitake, the
famous "Golden Arm" from Hawaii, they'd tell you that the crapshooter
does make a difference. Fujitake has had a number of staggeringly long
rolls over the years, his longest being the world record of over three
hours at the California Club in Las Vegas in the 1980s.
