MGM Mirage attention turns to Atlantic City's boardwalk

11 October 2007
LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- With its development plans on the Strip well in hand, MGM Mirage focused attention Wednesday on Atlantic City. "There is a lot of commonality in the development, such as cutting-edge design and architecture," Murren said...read more

Run-up in MGM stock stalls Dubai plan

9 October 2007
LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- The recent run-up in the stock price of MGM Mirage all but doomed an attempt by the investment arm of the Persian Gulf state of Dubai to acquire almost 10 percent of the Las Vegas casino operator. Infinity World investments, a wholly owned subsidiary of Dubai World, said Tuesday it was only able to acquire a tiny fraction of the 14.2 million shares of MGM Mirage the company had planned to purchase. The tender offer ended Friday and Infinity World said it acquired 348,903 shares of MGM Mirage for $84 a share, about 0.1 percent of what it hoped to attract...read more

27 September 2007
If you enjoyed James McKenna's Beyond Tells you'll appreciate his focus in Beyond Traps -- The Anatomy of Poker Success (234 pages, paperbound, $15.95). Too, if you want an offbeat approach to beating 21, Hollywood Dave Stann's Hollywood Blackjack (179 pages, paperbound, $19.99) makes for some fast-paced, colorful reading.
