A Simple Coin Toss18 November 2004 Readers of this column are well aware that Video Poker is essentially a game which
is governed exclusively by probabilties. Given a deck of cards, given a version

Notice that we determine the statistics of the game, meaning the average number
of the kinds of hands dealt out, the Expected Values of all of these types assuming
the player is expert and the payback one would expect over a large sample of
games played.
In Video Poker, as in most forms of gaming, we can never predict an outcome
or result except as a probability , or as odds for/ against an event happening...read moreVideo and Live Poker Making News at Harrah's East Chicago17 November 2004 Poker players, both devotees of the video version as well as live rooms, are the recipients of good news from Harrah's East Chicago Casino & Hotel.

the people are staying away.
That's the best thing to do--vote with your feet and play elsewhere.
Best of luck in and out of the casinos,

The question, of course, doesn't imply that anybody should take seriously the
obligatory statements blurted out by those mega-jackpot winners of the type, "I
had a feeling I was gonna hit big today." Nor does it apply to situations
in which solid citizens try to influence the cards, dice, or spinning reels by
predicting or telekinetically "willing" them to yield a desired result...read moreMilk Money Slot is a MOOving Experience!14 November 2004 Recently in Tunica I experienced the most fun 15 minutes in recent memory
playing WMS Gaming's Milk Money video slot. I was attracted to this game
because of the tall, attention-getting cabinet and the sounds coming out of
it--moos, cowbells and reggae music! Each time I sought out this slot,
someone was playing it, so I figured it must be a great game...read moreSide Bets Can Trim Your Handicap in Blackjack13 November 2004 I say blackjack is the best game in the casino for a smart gambler. But no matter how well you learn to play your hands, you're still going to come out just a little on the short end over time - assuming you're not a professional card counter.
So if you want to help your odds beyond simply playing your hands right, you'll have to start thinking "outside the box" by making some good side bets involving other players' hands.
In recent columns, we discussed "hand interaction", which consists primarily of doubling down on other players' hands when they don't want to...read moreA little flim, a little flam12 November 2004 Dear Mark: I am frequently receiving in the mail various advertisements
