Do Loose Slots Exist?

15 November 2004

I visited an Indian casino in Louisiana. It did not pay anyone. Everyone is saying they need to be reported. Once in a blue moon they let someone win. The people have stopped going to that casino. Even giving you comps, the people are staying away.

That's the best thing to do--vote with your feet and play elsewhere.

Best of luck in and out of the casinos,
John

I received one of these "gimmicks" that come out of Brooklyn and other parts of New York, Staten Island, etc. One of them was on playing five quarters in a quarter machine; I wanted to try it and went to Shreveport and could not locate a quarter machine that would take five, but my girlfriend swears she has seen them. Can you tell me if they exist?

Thanks,
Lou

Dear Lou,

Quarter machines that take five coins definitely do exist. Double Diamonds is available in a five-coin paytable, as is Wild & Loose. Five-coin quarter machines may be tough to find today because video slots are pushing out the traditional reel-spinners, but they're still available from the manufacturers.

Best of luck in and out of the casinos,

Hey, John,

My wife and I play at the Charlestown slots in WV. We have traveled to West Virginia on several occasions--during the weekday, also on Friday and Saturday nights. Every time we going during the daytime, it seems that the slot machines at Charlestown play very tight. On Friday and Saturday nights, we seem to fair much better.

The question is: Are the slot machines programmed to pay out more during crowded times? Also is there really such a thing as loose slots machines?

Slots are not programmed to pay out more during crowded times. The only way to change the payback on a slot machine is to change a chip in the machine.

Whether loose slot machine exist depends on what your meaning of "loose" is. There's no standard on what makes a machine loose or tight the way there is a standard that says exactly how long an inch is. Some machines may pay back more than others on a casino floor, and those machines could be considered loose for that casino. Some casinos run slot floors with lower house edges than other casinos, and those casinos could be considered loose.

Best of luck in and out of the casinos,
John

Hello,

Can anybody develop a Video Poker Game for OnLine Casino or Slot Machine? Is there any licence or property rights to pay? Which company have that rights?

Thanks a lot,
Jaime

Dear Jaime,

Your best bet is to search for online casino software and contact the companies returned by the search.

Best of luck in and out of the casinos,
John

Can you tell me where I might be able to find a Yukon Gold Slot Machine for sale for personal use?

I hope you can help me.

Wendi

Dear Wendi,

Depending on where you live, it may be illegal to have a slot machine even for personal use. Check the chart at www.royalbell.com.

Best of luck in and out of the casinos,
John
