A shuffle through the gaming mailbag22 December 2011 Q. I have a friend who plays Three Card Poker. He looks for dealers who expose one of their hole cards accidentally. He claims this happens more often than you would think, especially in newer casinos. He says he has been doing this for a while and is up a good deal of money.
What does this do to the odds if player is able to see at least one of the dealer hole cards?
Do you think this is an unethical practice, taking advantage of the dealer's negligence? I am conflicted on this question...read moreAsk the Slot Expert: What do casinos do with old slot machines?21 December 2011

If a good shooter is throwing the dice, throwing money on the table to buy in will make the seven appear...read morePushing the house18 December 2011
Dear Frank,
I'm always entertained and educated by your writings in The Blackjack Newsletter, Casino City Times, and others.
I've seen you use a term that I don't understand several times, and I wondered if you'd explain it in full detail?
What exactly does "pushing the house odds" mean in craps?
Is this process available in all casinos?
Is the process available only when certain minimum amounts are bet?
If there are casinos that do not offer this process of "pushing the house" or don't know anything about it, how do you persuade them to offer it?
Thank you in advance for your answer.
Sincerely,
Les
Dear Les:
At a 5x odds game, if you bet $15 on the come, you can push the house to give you the following odds:

$15 on 6/8 = $125 in odds = 8.33x odds
Note how high those odds bets can be...read more![]() Who Are All Those People?17 December 2011 When you enter a casino you will encounter a wide variety of house personnel that run a large modern casino. Q. You've written about the Martingale system, where you double up your bets after losses, and said that it's bad for gamblers. I just heard about a different system, called the anti-Martingale, where you double your bets after wins.
