The 12 superstitions about craps: #10 - The dealers and the seven6 February 2012
The 12 most popular superstitions at the game of craps are adhered to or believed by most craps players -- so if you want to play the game and not be thought a craps barbarian, you should know them. Keep in mind that individuals add their own superstitions too, so you might hear someone yelling some incoherent thing at the table which to him will ward off the coming of the ominous 7 or bring it on if he is a darkside player. If the dealer passes the dice to you with the seven showing, then the seven will be rolled soon. Because the 7 comes up about 17 percent of the time, any idea will show some validity because it will happen enough times to make it seem real. I could say, "If you touch your nose while a shooter is rolling the seven will come up." That has as much a chance as the dealer passing you the dice with the 7 showing. You can't hide from the math of the game and the "seven superstitions" on the part of many shooters concerning that "evil number" have no truth but a lot of believers.
