The 12 superstitions about craps: #1 - The hand and the dice5 December 2011
The 12 most popular superstitions at the game of craps are adhered to or believed by most craps players -- so if you want to play the game and not be thought a craps barbarian, you should know them. Keep in mind that individuals add their own superstitions too, so you might hear someone yelling some incoherent thing at the table which, to him, will ward off the coming of the ominous 7 -- or bring it on, if he is a darkside player. When the dice hit someone's hand, the roll will be a seven. Not so. In a random game, the 7 comes up 16.67% of the time, whether the dice hit another player's hand or his head or the back wall. But it is considered impolite to hang your hands over the table. Is there truth to this myth? For controlled shooters, yes, there is. Dice that hit the hands of another player will be random even though a controlled shooter is shooting. So keep your hands to yourself. Many craps players will go nuts if they see your hands hanging in such a way that the shooter can accidentally hit them. This article is provided by the Frank Scoblete Network. Melissa A.
