Not so. In a random game, the 7 comes up 16.67% of the time, whether the dice hit another player's hand or his head or the back wall. But it is considered impolite to hang your hands over the table.

Is there truth to this myth? For controlled shooters, yes, there is. Dice that hit the hands of another player will be random even though a controlled shooter is shooting. So keep your hands to yourself. Many craps players will go nuts if they see your hands hanging in such a way that the shooter can accidentally hit them.
