Faced with a possible 15 percent operating budget reduction that could have slowed state-mandated audits and curtailed law enforcement functions, the Gaming Control Board made successful arguments to Carson City lawmakers to keep much of the agency's proposed budget intact.
The control board, which oversees Nevada's multibillion-dollar casino industry, saw its 2010-11 budget slashed by $6.1 million, as opposed to the $11.1 million reduction offered by Gov...read morePlaying It Smart: How does jackpot size affect slot machine performance?27 July 2009

LAS VEGAS, Nevada –- The nine players who qualified for the World Series of Poker's main event final table are using the four-month break between hands to sign sponsorship deals, relax, or better their game.
Card Player magazine Editor Jeff Shulman is spending the time lobbing bombs at tournament owner Harrah's Entertainment.

How many times have your heard the tired refrain…"there's nothing to do outside of the casinos in Tunica."

Law school classes are conducted using the case method. Students are given published court opinions and then questioned on what they deduce the law is. This produces lawyers with the mistaken belief that the first place to look when conducting legal research is reported cases.
It is dangerous to forget that the final say on the law still usually means a bill that has been approved by a legislature and signed by the executive...read moreArticles by Howard Stutz
