IGT to supply terminals for Quebec Lottery

LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- Slot machine giant International Game Technology said Friday the company was awarded 56.7 percent of the replacement market for the Quebec Lottery. The agreement means Nevada-based IGT will provide 7,200 new video lottery terminals to be used by Loto-Quebec at its locations throughout the Canadian province. Loto-Quebec received government approval in 2009 to proceed with replacing its slot machinelike video lottery terminals in order to update an estimated 12,000 outdated gambling devices. IGT Chief Operating Officer Eric Tom called the Loto-Quebec contract a "valuable business." Vegas gambling revenues dip slightly in April

LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- More tourists came to Las Vegas in April, but gambling revenue reports fell during the month because of the way revenues are reported. The total visitor count for Las Vegas rose 4.8 percent from a year ago, to 3.35 million in April, while statewide gaming revenues fell less than 1 percent and Strip gaming revenues dipped 2.2 percent, figures released Thursday show. The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority said tourism posted its 14th straight monthly increase. Bally to provide gaming devices to Italian lottery
