The 5-Count and crapless craps25 December 2010
Frank,
I have a question I hope you will choose to answer. Here is my story:
I am in Tunica right now and have been playing at the Harrah's properties. Since I am a $5 or $10 player, I had been looking at my options. The $5 table was packed and was not taking any more players...read moreAlways insure a good hand24 December 2010 A friend of mine was watching me play blackjack in a Las Vegas casino. I was playing heads-up against the dealer in a double-deck game. He didn't say much to me while I was playing other than to give me an "atta boy" when I beat the dealer, or offer condolences when the dealer pulled a miracle draw to beat me...read moreThe end of an era23 December 2010 He was the greatest craps player who ever lived. He was known as the Captain. He had a crew of 22 high rollers who played with him from the late 1970s until each passed away, one by one. By the year 2000, there were only a handful left. Now there are none, unless you count Satch and me, who were acolytes of the Captain's Crew...read moreWMS Gaming Never Ceases to Amaze22 December 2010 Slot games developed by WMS Gaming will continue to captivate players around the world judging by the new products the company unveiled at last month's Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas.

This is a follow on question to "How does a slot machine use the numbers from the RNG?"
Could you provide the outcome table for the example you gave? I.e., is the example a penny, quarter, dollar, etc. machine, and what are the possible outcomes -- $20 for a cherry, $100 for three 7s, $1,000 for three triple bars, etc., for example...read moreIs dice control necessary to get an edge at craps?19 December 2010
Dear Frank,
In your book Beat the Craps out of the Casinos (original and expanded edition), the Supersystem uses the "doey-don't" and takes full odds on the come bets once the 5-Count is reached. If any of the four numbers you are on are not hit for three rolls, you call your odds "off" for two rolls and repeat this process until the shooter throws a "seven out."
As you correctly pointed out, you are mathematically playing a near "even" game with the house, avoiding risking your bankroll on horrendous rolls, and if the shooter "sevens out" while your odds are "off", you do not lose any money since there is no money at risk...read moreFollowing My Own Advice18 December 2010 Many of my columns deal with money management and being a responsible player who makes the best decisions in the casino. My columns are not just ideas that I write about. I honestly practice what I preach. However, I am only human and sometimes I make the mistake of not following my own advice and deviating from my own personal rules...read moreMystic craps16 December 2010 Anyone who has performed an activity that relies on skill knows that the mind is a powerful focal point of success once you have the skill to actually be good at that activity. Athletes know this. There are days when you are on and days when you are off...read moreMore Useful Information for Casino Goers15 December 2010 The built-in house advantage that casinos wield over all the games they offer is relentless, a virtual guarantee to wear down every gambler's bankroll over the long haul. But did you know the speed at which people play the games has a direct impact on how hard the house edge will hit them? Because you can play a slot machine faster than any table game, it is important to play at a slower pace...read moreBally's U-Spin technology is a winner14 December 2010 When Bally Technologies showed off its U-Spin technology at G2E 2009, Bally was pretty sure it had a winner. It did. Since an April roll-out, more than 1,200 Cash Spin games have been installed.
At G2E 2010 in November at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Bally showed a number of U-Spin games, ready to follow up on the success of Cash Spin, the first in the line...read more |
