LAS VEGAS -- The catastrophic hurricane-related damages suffered by Harrah's Entertainment's Gulf Coast casinos came home to roost in the final quarter of 2005. LAS VEGAS -- Believing state gaming regulators have overstepped their authority in suggesting what musical acts are appropriate for Strip nightclubs, the American Civil Liberties Union of Nevada plans to voice its displeasure today in Carson City. Louisiana Casinos Still Thriving

Pinnacle Entertainment's suburban New Orleans riverboat casino became Louisiana's largest producer of gaming revenue during January, capitalizing on a lack of entertainment opportunities in the hurricane and flood-ravaged city. Figures released Tuesday by the Louisiana Gaming Control Board showed Boomtown New Orleans, on the Mississippi River's west bank in Harvey, collected $24.6 million in gaming revenue during the month, a 141.6 percent increase from $10.2 million in January 2005. Throughout Louisiana, gaming revenue from riverboat casinos in January was $169.3 million, a jump of 30.3 percent from $129.9 million a year ago. MGM Mirage: Monitoring Indictment Case

LAS VEGAS -- MGM Mirage officials on Thursday praised a longtime board member who has been indicted by a federal grand jury but said they were monitoring the situation. The second-largest casino operator released a brief statement on prominent Beverly Hills attorney Terry Christensen the day after he was charged with one count of conspiracy and one count of intercepting wire communications.
