Nevada Panel Approves Red Rock License

LAS VEGAS -- Nevada Gaming Control Board Chairman Dennis Neilander offered a prediction Wednesday at the conclusion of the regulatory panel's 90-minute licensing hearing into Station Casino's $925 million Red Rock Resort. After the board unanimously recommended the company be granted approval to operate the planned 850-room hotel-casino in Summerlin, showering praise upon the Station Casinos management team for the company's Southern Nevada growth and finances, Neilander peered into the future. "By 2008 (Red Rock Resort) will be the flagship property for this company," the state's chief gaming regulator said. Wall Street Applauds Wynn's Macau Deal

NEW YORK -- Wall Street gave Wynn Resorts Ltd. its stamp of approval Monday following a weekend announcement that the Las Vegas-based company had sold a subconcession to operate casinos in Macau to a rival gaming developer for $900 million. Shares of Wynn Resorts, traded on the Nasdaq National Market, soared during Monday's session, closing at $72.24, up $7.83, or 12.16 percent. Wynn Resorts announced its deal Sunday, and in the first day of trading since the news almost 6 million shares were bought and sold, six times the normal daily volume. DCMS Reinforces UK Gambling Advertising Restrictions

The U.K. Department of Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) in conjunction with the Gambling Commission on Friday distributed a document outlining the government's stance on remote gaming advertisements under the Gaming Act of 1968. The Six Nations band of Native American tribes may soon ask its members to vote on whether online gambling facilities should be allowed to exist on their reservation outside Toronto.
