Cloutier and Patrik Antonius all bowed out before Chip Reese finally defeated Andy Bloch after the longest heads-up match in WSOP history — just over seven hours — to win $1.7 million. Bally, Sands strike big deal

LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- Bally Technologies announced Monday it signed the largest contract in the gambling equipment maker's history, a $56 million to provide Las Vegas Sands Corp. with management systems to operate slot machines, jackpot bonusing and operations at casinos under construction in Las Vegas, Macau and Singapore. The contract covers the $2.4 billion Venetian Macau, which is opening the summer; the $1.6 billion Palazzo, which is scheduled to open in December; six Las Vegas Sands-owned casinos under development on the Cotai Strip in China; and the $3.6 billion Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, which broke ground this year and is expected to open in 2009. IGT reports decrease in slot sales

LAS VEGAS, Nevada – Slot machine giant International Game Technology boosted earnings during its second quarter but a decline in game sales domestically and internationally disappointed Wall Street. MGM Mirage buy could boost Strip investment

LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- Development opportunities on the Strip's north end created by MGM Mirage's land acquisitions might entice some of the casino operator's new foreign-based joint venture partners to invest in Las Vegas. Gaming analysts lauded MGM Mirage's announcement Thursday that the company is spending $575 million to buy two vacant Strip land parcels. When combined with underused real estate that now houses portions of the company's Circus Circus hotel-casino, MGM Mirage said it now has a 78-acre site for future development. WPT adjusts European schedule

The World Poker Tour, which earlier this week scrapped plans to tape the Grand Prix de Paris, will add a stop in Spain to replace the tournament in its Season VI schedule. The tournament will be held at Casino Barcelona, operated by Grup Peralada, in October, 2007. Precise dates and a tournament name for the October event were not announced.
