27 June 2007

In our final installment, Pollack talks about what he has learned this year, corporate partnerships, and improving the player experience...read more

H.O.R.S.E. tournament brings new games to poker fans

27 June 2007

World Championship at the World Series of Poker dipped under 15 tables on Monday, my purple media pass (the lowest in the WSOP Media caste system) has banished me outside the tournament area. As a result, I've been watching the tournament with the audience, who are sometimes piled three or four deep at the rail. Many of the fans watching have no idea what's going on inside those ropes...read more

It's all in the Pictures

26 June 2007
Apparently it's all in the pictures. The GPWA team has been noticing that our GPWA Times readers like pictures, especially pictures that include cute girls. Imagine that. There has been one exception to the rule, however...if you haven't already noticed, I slacked off last week and did not produce an article for the GPWA newsletter...read more

Tape-delay of "The Sequestrium" allows Wong an instant replay

25 June 2007
LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The decision to broadcast some World Series of Poker tournaments via Web cast on a one-hour delay has been a hot topic of discussion at the Amazon Room at the Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino. Controversy aside, one of the unintended consequences of the one-hour delay is that it allows players at those tables to watch an instant replay of their final hour at the table. Suey Wong, who finished seventh in the $1,500 No Limit Hold'em tournament that was held today, did just that...read more

WSOP official: Ivey's missing chips question likely caused by his own miscount

25 June 2007
LAS VEGAS, Nev. - When Phil Ivey stacked his chips before the second day of play in the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. event at the World Series of Poker, he thought that he'd lost $10,000 chips overnight.
