Bally hopes Beach Boys slot will bring players fun, fun fun16 April 2012 Bally Technologies is hoping its newest themed slot machines will "get around" sometime this summer.
The Las Vegas-based gaming equipment provider used last week's National Indian Gaming Association tradeshow in San Diego to unveil a slot machine themed after the Beach Boys, the band that brought the culture of Southern California -- surfing, cars and romance -- to the music world.
Bally expects to roll out the Beach Boys slot machine nationwide in August.

Inside Gaming: Privacy must be a factor in creating online gaming policy9 April 2012 Gov. Brian Sandoval had departed the Nevada Gaming Commission chairmanship to run for attorney general when state regulators approved private gaming salons in 2002.
The regulation, which allowed casinos to set aside secluded gambling areas for big-spending high rollers, was the first time the state diverted from its long-standing policy that gaming take place in public view.

Ratings assignment marks sign of Sahara rebirth5 April 2012 A ratings assignment by Moody's Investors Service on a proposed $300 million in debt being floated by the owners of the closed Sahara marked an initial sign of rebirth for the shuttered hotel-casino.
The ratings agency said Wednesday that it had a positive view of the loan, which would be used to turn the Sahara, which closed in May, into SLS Las Vegas, a luxury hotel brand owned by privately held SBE Entertainment.

Macau gaming revenues hit $3.12 billion in March4 April 2012 First-quarter gaming revenues produced by Macau's casino market is up 27 percent over 2011, a year in which the Chinese gaming enclave's 34 gambling halls had a 12-month total of $33.5 billion.
