Top 10 casino openings and expansions for June 2025

Finding ways to continue to improve your property and impress your guests is something that is always on the to-do list for resorts. Because of this, we are taking a look at 10 casinos who have announced of unveiled openings and expansions since our last edition.

10. Indigo Sky Casino and Resort opens new restaurant
Indigo Sky Casino & Resort in Oklahoma is turning up the volume with the grand opening of Rock & Brews Restaurant and Concert Bar, featuring a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a free live performance by KISS Rock & Roll Hall of Famer and Rock & Brews co-founder, Gene Simmons, on 26 June.

The new Rock & Brews Restaurant and Concert Bar features the below:

- A 7,500 square-foot space designed for music lovers and foodies alike
- 15 LED screens for sports and entertainment viewing
- A full-service concert bar, countertop gaming, and space for dancing
- Private dining room and meeting room options within the restaurant
- A live performance stage for both local talent and national acts

9. Guy Fieri’s Chicken Guy! opens at Harrah’s Las Vegas
Harrah’s! Chicken Guy! by famed chef and TV personality Guy Fieri is now open at Harrah's Las Vegas Casino & Hotel.

The new destination is the second location on The Strip and Guy Fieri’s fourth restaurant with Caesars Entertainment Las Vegas Resorts.

The fast-casual dining venue features all-natural chicken. To best enjoy the tenders, guests can choose from 11 signature condiments including Donkey Sauce – a mixture of mayonnaise, roasted garlic, mustard, Worcestershire and lemon – and Nashville Hot Honey Sauce.

8. The Swimmin’ Hole at Silverton Hotel and Casino opens for pool season
In mid-May, Silverton Hotel & Casino announced that The Swimmin’ Hole opened for the season, inviting locals and guests to enjoy an elevated poolside experience featuring refreshed amenities, weekly programming, and a new weekday access option for Las Vegas residents.

The resort’s pool deck is back and better than ever, complete with private cabanas, daybeds, a hot tub, fire pits, and a new menu at The Swimmin’ Hole Bar & Grill.

For the first time, Las Vegas locals aged 21 and over can enjoy weekday access to The Swimmin’ Hole from Monday through Thursday with the purchase of a day pass.

7. Valley Forge Casino Resort to undergo complete renovation
Last month, Boyd Gaming Corporation announced plans for a complete renovation of Valley Forge Casino Resort in Pennsylvania.

Work is already underway on the project, including an ongoing redesign of Valley Forge’s Stardust Hotel rooms and lobby, along with the grand opening of the new Valley Forge Food Hall.

More is yet to come over the next 18 months, including multiple new food and beverage amenities and a modernization of the property’s casino.

6. Tropicana Atlantic City to unveil new Solana Tower
Tropicana Atlantic City will offer guests another reason to visit with the debut of the new Solana Tower, featuring 604 reimagined rooms and suites in the resort's west wing.

The project will commence later this year and is expected to debut in early 2026.

Work on the renovation is scheduled to begin after Labor Day with an anticipated completion date of January 2026. Reservations are slated to go live in fall 2025.

5. New sportsbook opens at Treasure Island
Station Casinos announced a new partnership with Treasure Island in Las Vegas and launched the STN Sportsbook inside the resort at The Golden Circle — the company’s first full-scale sportsbook on the famed Las Vegas Strip.

Opened on 29 April, the 3,089-square-foot book features 74 high-definition screens throughout the space, ranging from 55" to 85" displays, plus video walls.

For those who prefer mobile wagering, the STN Sportsbook provides a dedicated mobile sign-up location.

4. Wind Creek Chicago Southland opens doors
On 11 April, Wind Creek Chicago Southland’s full resort experience—including its luxury hotel and spa—officially opened to the public.

Wind Creek Chicago Southland is a resort destination offering an expansive 70,000-square-foot casino with 1,400+ slot machines, 56 table games, a poker room, sportsbook, and high-limit rooms.

The resort's full-service spa, Spa at Wind Creek, is located on the 16th floor overlooking the Chicago skyline. Guests can enjoy stays inside the 255-room, 43-suite hotel.

3. Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas opens new poker room
Just before the 56th annual World Series of Poker, Caesars Entertainment geared up for a summer full of poker play with the opening of a new poker room on the Las Vegas Strip.

On 9 May, the Planet Hollywood Las Vegas Poker Room officially opened and began hosting its first poker games.

The 24-hour Poker Room spans 4,800 square feet and includes 23 poker tables – 12 for cash games and 11 for tournament play.

2. Ocean Casino Resort announces $270 million hotel transformation
In April, Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City announced over $50 million in property-wide capital investments planned for 2025.

These new development projects are part of a seven-year, $270 million property transformation that Ocean has been implementing since its inception in 2018.

This latest commitment includes more than 500 new Blu Rooms and Suites, a casino expansion, five new dining options and more.

Ocean’s 2025 investment in its guest rooms and suites marks the culmination of a multi-year project to transform all 1,860 guest rooms and suites at the property.

Ocean Casino Resort is opening two new restaurants in partnership with restaurateur Stephen Starr, who is lending STARR Restaurants' expertise on the conceptualization of the two venues. The multi-million-dollar concepts will be located on Ocean’s Lobby Level and are scheduled to open this summer.

1. Live! Casino and Hotel Virginia breaks ground
Back in March, Bruce Smith Enterprise and The Cordish Companies celebrated the groundbreaking of the new Live! Casino & Hotel Virginia in Petersburg.

Live! Casino & Hotel Virginia is slated to open in 2027. A temporary gaming facility will open by the end of 2025.

Upon completion in 2027, the world-class Live! Casino & Hotel destination will feature the below:

- More than 450,000 square feet of gaming, hotel and dining space
- 75,000 square feet of meeting, convention and entertainment space including a 4,000 seat venue for concerts and special events from top talent from across Virginia and the greater region
- A 200-room hotel featuring 20 suites, resort pool and fitness center
- 1,600 slot machines
- 65 live action table games, including a 22-table poker room
- High limit slot and table areas
- Sportsbook
- 10 food and entertainment options, including local partners
- Free parking
