Place Betting the 6 and/or 826 October 2023
ABBY: A player making those bets has a decent chance to overcome the casino on this or that trip. Many of the other bets at craps have medium to awful house edges and the chances of beating craps is a remote possibility if you make such bets. CINDY: You also have Place bets at craps when you can go up directly on the numbers on which you wish to wager. Some of these Place bets are relatively decent bets, also coming in with relatively low house edges in the one and a half percent range. The two best Place bets are the 6 and 8. This are called “right bets” because you are looking for either or both of those numbers to hit. You bet in multitudes of six dollars and a winning wager wins seven dollars for the Place bettor. You can bet the 6 or the 8 or both of them at the same time. ABBY: For the “line” bets that Cindy mentioned above, you must first put the initial bet down – the Pass, Come or Don’t Pass, Don’t Come and the roll of the dice will determine which number you are wagering for or against. CINDY: For our purposes we are right bettors, we go with the numbers and not against them. Players that go against the numbers are called “wrong bettors” and they make up probably about five percent of all craps players. Suffice it to say that these players are not the favorites of other craps players. ABBY: So, for the best bets on the “right” side of the game, the Pass and Come have 1.41 percent house edges and the Place bets of the 6 and/or 8 come in with house edges of 1.52 percent. Not too many casino games have house edges this low. CINDY: Obviously, the lower the house edge, the better it is for the player. ABBY: I enjoy the Placing of the 6 or 8. If you bet $30 on one or the other or split $60 between both, you have 10 chances to make your number. The win on a $30 wager is $35 dollars. CINDY: There are 36 possible numbers a player can Place bet at craps which is one six-sided die multiplied by one six-sided die which comes to 36 overall numbers. The 2 appears once, the 3 appears twice, the 4 appears three times, the 5 appears four times, the 6 appears five times, the seven 7 appears six times, the 8 appears five times, the 9 appears four times, the 10 appears three times, the 11 appears two times, and the 12 appears one time. ABBY: You do not have to be a genius to get into a craps game right off the bat if you decide to go with Place betting the 6 and/or 8. If you bet either or both of these numbers, you are looking for them to hit before the 7 hits. They hit, you win but if the 7 hits and you lose. CINDY: Place betting the 6 and/or 8 are great ways to play the game of craps. Low house edges and better chances to win. This article is provided by the Frank Scoblete Network. Melissa A.
