Let's Go to Atlantic City27 February 2025
ABBY: Those of us who live on the East coast ever since the 1980s look to Atlantic City as our casino gambling lifeblood. CINDY: Undoubtably. ABBY: Often Atlantic City was referred to as the Las Vegas of the East. But over the years it just hasn’t grown or given as good as it gets. Atlantic City itself is somewhat shoddy and you really don’t want to walk anywhere other than on the Boardwalk. You can take that from two women. Day time is okay I guess; nighttime is fraught with danger. CINDY: But the cops do a good job and the casinos are safe and quite pleasant. ABBY: And what about the casinos in terms of the games? How do they rate in relation to Las Vegas? CINDY: Actually, quite good. Most are in the upper-middle-class league. They are clean and usually busy. Plenty of action. ABBY: The three best casinos are actually as good as any Las Vegas A+ casinos. The blackjack games are modern ones; eight decks (maybe some with six decks) and craps is of the modern type, more than double odds, often 3X, 4X, 5X. You will not find state of the art games where the odds can be 10X or more. These will come and go. CINDY: Atlantic City is a slot player’s dream town. The slot areas are usually clean and neat and there are many, many great modern machines that allow for multiple games. Evidently slot players enjoy the action of playing multiple games! ABBY: Mid-week you still get the bus crowd and they are by and large a great group. Atlantic City is on the retirees’ calendar for sure. I think this is a great thing. Getting older, Atlantic City opens its arms to you. If you are of that age then make a point of finding out what Atlantic City offers to you. I think you will be impressed. CINDY: Atlantic City does not have the level of shows that Vegas has, so sorry – not really a close contest between those venues. Just about every A+ casino in Vegas will have a resident show, bring in mega-stars too, and some will have Cirque Du Soliel shows s well. Those can’t be topped. ABBY: The big names will come to Atlantic City for a weekend show, maybe two, but that is about it. Right now, there are nine AC casinos. Vegas has close to 100! CINDY: Atlantic City is not Vegas by the sea. Far from it. But it is its own world and a decent one at that. If you are an East coaster and a trip to Vegas seems out of the question you might be happy heading to Atlantic City. ABBY: Give it a try if you haven’t been there in awhile or if you haven’t been there at all. This article is provided by the Frank Scoblete Network. Melissa A.
