Bankroll and More28 July 2022
ABBY: I want to make sure that I will never run out of money. That means I will consistently put money into my bankroll account. If I have a winning trip to the casino, that win goes into my account. My weekly or bi-weekly deposit goes in as well. It is possible with a few good trips and those regular deposits my bankroll can grow. It is also possible that my bankroll can be diminished by bad trips. Those regular deposits will take the sting out of losing trips. The amounts we will use at first is the maximum amount you need in your account to play a game where you lose every single decision. If you need “X” amount of money to play one hour of a game, how much do you need to play four hours? Two days? A weekend trip? These aspects multiply amounts, obviously. In our final article we will put all the money in a direct perspective for you. What do you need to play the way you want? CINDY: At craps, I want to make a bet on the pass line with odds and two bets on numbers on the board, usually using the come bet with odds. I am talking about a minimum of $30 spread on three bets and then you add the odds. The odds are a “free” bet but it can be lost as you know. Yes, a loss can hurt in this situation. Your bankroll should be able to absorb the loss without you having a heart attack. Even positive or break-even bets such as the odds can be lost. This is something to remember. How much do I need to play craps for a couple of hours on one day and lose every single decision? Let’s say each round of my bets is $90 then I think I would need 10 times that amount for a two-hour playing session. Is it possible that I would lose $900? Yes. Is it possible that I won’t lose all that amount? Yes. Is it probable that I will remain with some money? Yes. Now let me say that I want to play a few times on one day and a few times on three days on a casino trip; how much would I need? I’d say about $9,000. This is just to play craps now. Do I think I will lose all that money? No, I don’t. But better safe than sorry. I can play without sweating the action. When I am done with the craps-playing I put whatever money for that game back into my bankroll account. But there are other games to consider too. ABBY: Next week.
