Witness in Simpson case returns to stand

16 September 2008

LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- After leaving the stand Monday complaining of chest pains, memorabilia dealer Bruce Fromong returned to the stand today to complete his testimony.

The dealer's testimony was abruptly interrupted at about 4:30 p.m. yesterday when he told Judge Jackie Glass he felt dizzy and lightheaded.

His lawyer, Louis Schneider, said his client already has suffered four heart attacks and is "medically fragile."

He was briefly examined by paramedics after Glass excused him for the day but he wasn't taken to the hospital.

After the break, Glass decided to dismiss Fromong for the day rather than have him return to the stand. While the choice was challenged by the defense, the judge didn't budge and instead asked the prosecution to call its next witness.

Fromong returned to the witness stand this morning as one of O.J. Simpson's lawyers, Gabriel Grasso, resumed his questioning.

Fromong remains on the stand and is answering questions about what he said and heard the night Simpson and five others allegedly stole a range of memorabilia from him during a raid of a Palace Station hotel room.
