Bonus Slots Update: Storm Chaser, Love to Win, Evel Knievel, Frog Wild24 June 2002
We're back chasing storms and leaping frogs. Also, there is a visit with the 'King of Daredevils'--Evel Knievel and last but certainly not least, don't we all just Love to Win? 1) Storm Chaser by Aristocrat. This game is not targeted towards the slow paced player. The rapid speed of play denotes the theme of meteorologists chasing tornadoes and there are are no respins or second-screen bonus features. A 4X4 truck is the wild symbol, substituting for all other symbols including scatter-pays. Five trucks on the payline pays a top jackpot of 5,000 coins times the line bet and a scatter-pay "twister" symbol pays from 2 to 50 coins when three or more land on a payline. A serious game intended for the no nonsense 'pace setter'. 2) Love to Win by Williams. The theme here is dating with a "Love Meter" while rating your performance and rewarding you accordingly. Three chocolate symbols trigger the "Box of Chocolates" bonus round where the player is prompted to select three chocolates revealing bonus amounts. If a high amount is won on a particular flavor selection, the player has the option of choosing the same flavor again for a duplicate bonus reward. Three or more "heart meter" symbols trigger the main event named the "Dating Bonus" where the player picks a couple to go on a date and this is where our "Love Meter" rates the man on such things as the quality of the gift for his date or the vehicle in which he arrived. When the couple arrive at their date location they ask each other questions, displayed on the screen in word or thought balloons, and their responses determine their compatilbility and reward. The final outcome of the date provides an extra bonus for the player if it turns out positive. Ah, l'amour, l'amour, c'est amusant, oui? 3) Frog Wild byAristocrat. The quick screen bonus event is called the "Firefly Bonus". Three "Quick Pick" symbols on a payline transform the screen into a night-time scene where a frog picks off fireflies with his tongue revealing bonus amounts. Three "Leap Frog Bonus" symbols send you back to a pond for the main bonus where the player selects a frog to compete in a leap frog contest. Bonus amounts are accumulated with each jump to another lily pad. Both frogs reveal amounts with each leap and if your frog wins the race, you collect the bonus won by both. Lastly, lounging lily leaps lick luminated little 'luckies' for loot. 4) Evel Knievel by IGT. Motorcyclist daredevil Evel Knievel's actual voice was recorded for the voice-overs, like: "Life isn't worth anything unless you've got some gamble in ya." The primary game bonus happens when a stunt locale appears on the middle reels plus two ramps with an obstacle on the center reel. The player then views an authentic video of one of Evel's stunts before their reward. A second bonus round is revealed when three or more "X-ray" symbols appear on a payline. Upon your selection, a hidden bonus amount is yours. The main event is the "Daredevil Bonus" depicting Knievel prepared to jump over obstacles as soon as the player presses the "Jump" button. When successful, the player can have him jump again for up to three times or you may elect to come to a screeching halt. You can Jump and Bump without the lumps here. I will return soon with more 'characters' for your playing delight. |
