Top 10 reasons to visit Harrah's Las Vegas Casino & Hotel

16 October 2023

This month, Harrah's Las Vegas Casino & Hotel is celebrating its birthday as it commemorates 50 years since its grand opening. Guests can experience food and beverage specials, participate in social media sweepstakes, receive entertainment and spa offers and more throughout October. But on top of that, Casino City takes a look at some other reasons to step into the Las Vegas Strip resort.

10. The history
Back in 1970, Harrah’s Las Vegas began construction on its Strip property, partnered with Holiday Inn.

The hotel, Holiday Inn Center Strip, officially opened its doors on 1 February 1972, and the Holiday Casino followed a year later with doors swinging open on 2 July 1973.

The Holiday name did not switch to Harrah’s Las Vegas until 1992, two years after Holiday Inn handed over ownership to The Promus Companies, which later became Harrah’s Entertainment in 1995.

A lot of changes took place for Harrah’s during the 1990s. The original riverboat theme went away, and during a $200 million renovation project, the resort’s three towers underwent changes, including a 35-story addition to the third tower.

In more recent years, Harrah’s Las Vegas made significant enhancements with renovations of guest rooms and common areas throughout the casino floor, which we will get into shortly.

9. The location
Sitting right on The Strip, Harrah’s is in a prime location and surrounded by so much. Right across the street, you have some of the most famous Las Vegas resorts in Caesars Palace, Bellagio and The Mirage.

To the left of Harrah’s, you have The Venetian Las Vegas and on its right, Flamingo Las Vegas. There are a number of attractions within eye shot for guests to enjoy. The Bellagio Fountains are just a walk across the street, the Venetian gondola rides are just next door, and right behind Harrah’s is the High Roller where guests can see some of the best views that Las Vegas has to offer , including a look at the recently opened Sphere behind The Venetian.

8. Monorail
If you are looking to venture a little farther down the Strip and let’s say you want to avoid walking since it could be extremely hot during certain months in Sin City, well Harrah’s has you covered.

The Las Vegas Monorail has stops all along the Strip, some even outside of that area, and one of those stops sits right at Harrah’s.

You could hop on and head over to SAHARA Las Vegas or if you are looking for a big sports viewing experience, ride the rail over to the Superbook at Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino.
Another famous Las Vegas resort that is a part of this perk is the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino Las Vegas. One of the bigger resorts in all of Las Vegas, MGM is probably a 25-minute walk from Harrah’s or just a few minutes ride on the monorail.

A single ride is $5.50, but if you are planning a long-weekend, they have options like a three-day pass for $30.

7. Ramsay’s Kitchen
Exactly 11 months ago, Ramsay's Kitchen, a concept by Chef Gordon Ramsay, made its official debut at Harrah's Las Vegas.

"Ramsay's Kitchen marks one of the biggest openings in Harrah's history," said Dan Walsh, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Harrah's Las Vegas. "Not only are we excited to offer an incredible dining experience to our guests for lunch and dinner, but Ramsay's Kitchen is also a great, convenient option for those attending meetings and events at Caesars Forum Conference Center."

Ramsay's Kitchen offers a variety of beer, wine and specialty cocktails, including The Spiced Pear, with Absolut Pears vodka, pear liqueur, cinnamon-cardamom vanilla syrup and lemon as well as Boston's Inferno, with Maker's Mark whisky, Smoke Wagon small batch whiskey, dark maple syrup and angostura bitters.

Dishes exclusive to the Ramsay's Kitchen at Harrah's Las Vegas menu include Beef Carpaccio with horseradish panna cotta, cured egg yolk, artichoke chips and English mustard sauce; Onion Soup with oxtail brandade, Gruyère gratinée and baguette, and Roasted Chicken Breast with herb butter, creamed corn polenta, seasonal mushroom fricassee and chicken jus.

6. Spa
At The Spa at Harrah’s Las Vegas, guests can experience an atmosphere that offers a steam room, relaxation lounge and sauna. In addition, The Spa also offers cardio and weight equipment and the fitness center is open 24 hours.

In honor of the resort’s milestone anniversary, spa visitors can treat themselves to a relaxing Swedish massage enhanced with an exfoliating hand and foot treatment featuring The Spa at Harrah’s special blend of sugar scrub. After the service, guests can make a toast with a celebratory glass of champagne.

Guests can honor the golden anniversary of Harrah’s Las Vegas with a 24-karat gold treatment that fills facial lines, lifts the skin and provides a rejuvenation to reduce aging appearances. Guests also can enjoy the service with a celebratory glass of champagne.

5. Pool
The Olympic-sized pool at Harrah’s is a place to leave any worries at the door. All ages are welcome and only hotel guests and VIP guests are allowed entrance.

There are a total of nine cabanas where groups can enjoy bottle service and games like beer pong and Jenga in their own private space.

Daybeds are also available for reservation, while common pool chairs are up for grabs to those who feel like kicking back with a nice poolside drink and taking in some sun.

4. Carnaval Court
When you are looking for a place to go out at night in Las Vegas, you are going to see a lot of massive nightclubs, but maybe that isn’t your scene and you are looking for something fun and more relaxed.

Well, Carnaval Court at Harrah’s is just that. The outdoor bar area features live bands and also has bottle-flipping bartenders to add to the fun and entertainment.

Another benefit is that Carnaval Court doesn’t have a cover charge like you encounter at one of the bigger nightclub venues in Sin City.

Another spot, this time inside, is The Piano Bar at Harrah’s. While this does have a cover, the bar offers live music each night, plus karaoke on select nights.

3. Sportsbook
Last summer, the Caesars Race and Sportsbook at Harrah’s completed its renovation and opened its doors again.

The renovated space now features 760 square feet of LED TV walls, six, 65-inch odds boards, two self-service betting kiosks and six sports betting ticket windows.

Located right near the high limit slots area, the book allows guests to reserve a seat, table or VIP package ahead of time online.

2. 2021 renovation
Two years ago, the resort underwent a $200 million renovation that included 2,542 redesigned guest rooms and suites, a complete casino floor remodel, and two new LED marquees at the north and south entrances.

Harrah's Las Vegas completed the redesign of all rooms and suites, including the Mountain Tower with an additional investment of $70 million. Each room offers an oversized backlit vanity station, in addition to the backlit vanity mirror in the modern bathroom. Guests can also enjoy stunning views of the city or the High Roller Observation Wheel in select rooms.

Additional highlights of the suites include a separate living and dining area with a wet bar and entertainment area, an oversized soaking tub, and the option for two connecting bedrooms with a king bed and two queen beds.

1. Casino
With 80 tables available, Harrah’s has you covered with the popular games like blackjack, roulette, craps and baccarat.

If you are more of a slots player, well have no fear because you will be able to choose from over 1,000 machines. The slots have a wide range of denominations for playrs of all betting ranges as you can wager as little as pennies up to as high as $500.

With nearly 90,000 square feet of gaming space provided to players, it is safe to say there is something for all gamblers at this casino.

As part of that renovation project two years ago, Harrah's enhanced the guest experience with a casino floor featuring upgraded lighting, floor and ceiling tiling, carpeting and modern restrooms.
