Casino City’s Friday Five: In-flight sports betting edition

31 July 2026

Passengers on Delta flights now have a new experience available to them after the company partnered with DraftKings to unveil an in-flight contest. In addition, this week we have a major slot win on the Las Vegas Strip, Caesars powering Westgate’s SuperBook, a fine from the UKGC, and the Mass Lottery Online going live.

Let’s begin with a new millionaire:

5. $1.2 million slot win at The Venetian Las Vegas
Over the weekend, a guest at The Venetian Las Vegas, who wished to remain anonymous, was playing Huff N’ More Puff when they buzzed their $75 bet all the way to $1,283,510.

4. UKGC fines Evolution Malta Holding Limited
Evolution Malta will pay a £4.75 million settlement after a U.K. Gambling Commission investigation revealed its games appeared on six unlicensed websites accessible to consumers in Great Britain.

During the investigation, it was established that Evolution’s risk assessment of whether their business could be used for money laundering and terrorist financing was not effective enough to flag that two operators it conducted business with were supplying its games to consumers in Great Britain without holding a Commission license.

Between December 2023 and November 2024 there were large volumes of visits to the six websites by U.K. players.

3. Mass Lottery Online is now live
Earlier this week, the Massachusetts State Lottery launched Mass Lottery Online, featuring a variety of games that registered players age 21 or older can play on the Mass Lottery app and website on a mobile device, computer, or tablet. Profits generated from online sales will be returned to the Commonwealth to fund a grant program to support early childhood education and care.

Several draw-based games sold at retail are also available for purchase online: Mass Cash, Megabucks, Mega Millions, Powerball, and Millionaire for Life. Ticket costs, game odds, prize structures, and draw times remain the same for these games.

Several games remain available only for retail purchase: traditional Keno, The Numbers Game, and The Wheel of Luck.

2. Caesars Sportsbook powers new era of betting at Westgate SuperBook
Caesars Entertainment and Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino announced that the Westgate SuperBook, powered by Caesars Sportsbook, is now live with new wagering capabilities ahead of football season.

Guests can now access expanded betting options, upgraded mobile wagering capabilities and more than 20 self-service wagering kiosks located throughout the SuperBook and Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino.

Caesars Sportsbook is introducing new ways for fans to engage throughout football season, including the Pro Pick’em Contest and Nevada-exclusive $1 Million Parlay Cash Giveaway.

1. DraftKings and Delta team up for in-flight sports experience
On Wednesday, DraftKings and Delta Air Lines announced the launch of SkyPicks, a new free-to-play in-flight sports contest that gives eligible customers an interactive way to engage with sports while they travel.

SkyPicks allows customers to interact with upcoming sports matchups across professional football, basketball, baseball, and more. Customers on U.S. domestic, Wi-Fi-equipped Delta flights can access SkyPicks directly from their personal laptop or mobile device while connected to Delta's complimentary in-flight Wi-Fi through their Delta SkyMiles account.

The contest invites players to answer a series of sports-related questions—such as who will score first, which team will win, and a final-score tiebreaker—to compete for a spot atop the leaderboard. New contests are offered several times each week, giving customers multiple opportunities to play and win throughout the month.
