Top 10 prop bets for the 2025/2026 NFL season

4 August 2025

The NFL preseason is finally upon us and there will be football played every week from now until February. Fans are preparing for their fantasy football drafts and taking a look at Week 1 matchups.

However, futures are a massive part of sports betting and that is where we really focus in on today. Let’s take a look at 10 prop bets to make for the upcoming regular season.

All odds provided by bet365 Sportsbook & Racebook

10. Defensive Player of the Year
Any opposing offensive line and quarterback needs to know where Myles Garrett is at all times when he is on the field.

The top pick in the 2017 draft is going to get pressure in the backfield one way or another. Garrett has tallied at least 10 sacks in every season besides his rookie campaign, including at least 12 sacks in each of the last four years.

Not only that, the Cleveland Browns’ defensive end knows how to jar the ball loose, forcing three fumbles last year, and four the prior season.

Bet $100 to win $750 on Garrett to win Defensive Player of the Year

9. Cook to lead Buffalo in TDs
Entering his fourth season, James Cook really took a massive jump a season ago. The Bills’ running back tallied his second-straight 1,000 yard rushing season, but improved his touchdown count from two on the ground, to 16.

When the Bills are driving and reach the redzone, the offense looks to get him the ball often because he proved last year he knows how to find the endzone.

With a total of 18 touchdowns in 2024, Cook is getting great value here to lead his team in this category at -125.

Bet $125 to win $100 on Cook to score the TDs for Buffalo

8. Offensive Player of the Year
While Cook really improved scoring wise, another running back whose stock continues to climb is Jahmyr Gibbs of the Detroit Lions.

The dual-threat back nearly posted 2,000 scrimmage yards and found himself in the endzone 20 times. He is a matchup nightmare for defenses, but a fantasy owner’s dream.

The powerhouse offense that is the Lions, knows that when Gibbs has the ball, good things happen, so expect a lot of that again this season.

Bet $100 to win $1,100 on Gibbs to win Offensive Player of the Year

7. New England to make playoffs
It’s not secret that football in New England since Tom Brady left has been nothing short of difficult to watch. However, there is optimism this season with second-year QB Drake Maye showing signs of being able to lead an offense, especially with the help of offseason acquisition Stefon Diggs.

The Patriots hired Mike Vrabel to take the reigns as head coach and get this team in order to bring playoff football back to Foxborough.

The defense has some big talent, led Christian Gonzalez in the secondary and Christian Barmore and Milton Williams on the front line.

If the offensive line can protect Maye, this team has the pieces to make a push to sneak into a Wild Card spot and find themselves in the postseason once again.

Bet $100 to win $140 on New England making the playoffs

6. Pittsburgh under 9.5 wins
Not many predicted it, but Aaron Rodgers will be taking snaps in Pittsburgh. While some videos emerged of him struggling early on in training camp, Rodgers may still have some left in the tank.

However, the schedule isn’t too favorable for the Steelers as they will have to face off against a tough NFC North division this season.

It’s not easy to put together a double-digit win season with a solid schedule, but when you have a difficult path like Pittsburgh does, it is going to be tough roads ahead.

In 18 seasons, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has never had a losing season, but I’m betting that streak could come to an end this year.

Bet $220 to win $100 on Pittsburgh under 9.5 wins

5. AFC North winner
Staying in the AFC North, it seems like as close to a one-horse race in my mind to take the division.

The Baltimore Ravens have the best roster on paper by far in that division. The QB-RB backfield duo of Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry is the best in the league and there is no question about it. Jackson’s elusiveness and playmaking ability causes a number of issues for defenses, while Henry’s size and power makes him nearly impossible to bring down solo.

While their passing targets aren’t top names around the league, they are reliable and get the job done. In addition, their defense always brings pressure on the QB and tire offensive lines out over the course of four quarters.

At -160 to win the AFC North, the Ravens are a steal.

Bet $160 to win $100 on Baltimore to win the AFC North

4. Most passing yards
In 2024, Cincinnati Bengals’ QB Joe Burrow led the league in passing yards by just over 200 yards.

I expect another season of a pass-first offense out of the Bengals with Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins returning. The pass catchers both are great at getting open and Chase is impressive with making defenders miss and getting more after the catch.

After losing Joe Mixon to the Houston Texans last year, the run game for the Bengals wasn’t as productive as it had been with Mixon in the backfield.

Bet $100 to win $500 on Burrow to lead the league in passing yards

3. AFC South winner
Speaking of Houston, the Texans claimed the division title in 2024 with a 10-7 record, the only remotely close team to them in the division were the Indianapolis Colts with a sub-.500 record of 8-9.

QB C.J. Stroud has really made strides leading this offense. Even though Tank Dell and Joe Mixon are dealing with injuries, Houston brought in Christian Kirk and Nick Chubb to fill those holes. Nico Collins and Dalton Schultz are also more than capable of carrying the passing game.

With Houston being nearly even money to win the AFC South, it feels like a must-bet play.

Bet $105 to win $100 on Houston to win the AFC South

2. MVP
As a rookie, QB Jayden Daniels of the Washington Commanders really turned heads at how quickly he adjusted to the speed of the pros and improved throughout the season.

Daniels really showed out in the playoff matchup against the Detroit Lions where he tossed two touchdown passes, 299 yards in the air, and 51 on the ground in a 45-31 upset over the high-scoring Lions.

One thing Daniels has to improve on is his sliding decision making. At this level, you can’t be taking big hits when you don’t need to against these defenders so sliding a few more times should be on his agenda.

That being said, the second-year QB can really extend a play and pick up big yards on his own if his options aren’t open. If he continues on the path he was near the end of the season, Daniels could really find himself in the MVP conversations in 2025.

Bet $100 to win $850 on Daniels to win MVP

1. Detroit to win Super Bowl
At 15-2, the Detroit Lions were tied with the Kansas City Chiefs for the best regular season record in 2024.

It was a disappointing early playoff exit for Detroit as the Washington Commanders put up 28 points in the second quarter of the Divisional Round en route to a 14-point win over Detroit, which saw its defense get ravaged by injuries in the late stages of the season.

With a chip on their shoulder from last year’s season ending, the big pieces are returning to the high-powered offense in Detroit.

The three-headed monster of Jared Goff, Jahmyr Gibbs and Amon-Ra St. Brown is already enough to put defenses in a world of trouble. Add David Montgomery and Sam LaPorta, just to name a couple more, and there is really no easy way to prevent this team from putting up big numbers in the scoring column.

Bet $100 to win $1,100 on Detroit to win Super Bowl LX
