Top 10 land-based jackpots of 2022

10. $925,000
Last month, Empire City Casino announced that a lucky Yonkers’ resident won its largest jackpot of 2022.

The Yonkers native hit a $925,488 jackpot with a $20 bet on the IGT Wheel of Fortune Triple Stars slot machine, one of nearly 4,600 slots and electronic table games offered at the New York casino.

9. $1.09 million
Near the end of summer, a player hit a grand jackpot of over $1 million with a $25 bet at Seminole Casino Coconut Creek in Florida.

The guest was playing the Aristocrat Dragon Link Golden Century slot machine on Wednesday, 24 August when the $1,099,858 jackpot was hit. This progressive reset to $1 million after the win.

8. $1.1 million
A guest from Hawaii kicked off 2022 by hitting a more than $1.1 million jackpot at Boyd Gaming’s Fremont Hotel & Casino in Downtown Las Vegas playing IGT’s Wheel of Fortune slots on 21 January.

The player, who was staying at the California Hotel and Casino, was playing on a Wheel of Fortune Super Times Pay 2x 3x 4x 5x slot machine in the morning.

After playing on the machine for about 10 minutes and playing a $5 spin, he scored a jackpot totaling $1,100,986.

7. $1.2 million
On Monday, 25 July, the Jamul Casino in California awarded $1.2 million to Phuc Nguyen from San Diego.

Phuc, who plays several times a month, bet $5 to win the jackpot while playing Super 4 Blackjack Progressive and the winning hand occurred when the royal flush in diamonds was dealt.

With the winnings, Phuc said he planned to spend time with his family and go on vacation.

6. $1.24 million
A player from Florida hit a grand jackpot of over $1 million at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa on 30 August.

The guest was playing Aristocrat Gaming's Dragon Link Golden Century slot machine when the $1,242,234 progressive jackpot cashed. The progressive was reset to $1 million.

5. $1.31 million
On 11 November, an anonymous slots player at Talking Stick Resort in Scottsdale became an instant millionaire, striking it big with a winning pull of $1,316,234 on Wheel of Fortune.

“It’s incredibly exciting to give away a jackpot of this size,” said Ramon Martinez, director of public relations for Talking Stick Resort. “We are all thrilled for the winner and also honor their request to remain anonymous. We wish them all the best as they celebrate their win privately.”

4. $1.31 million
Michelle from Hawaii hit a more than $1.3 million jackpot at Boyd Gaming’s California Hotel & Casino playing IGT’s Wheel of Fortune slots on 28 March.

After making a $5 bet, the winner scored a progressive jackpot totaling $1,316,725.

This marked the third Wheel of Fortune jackpot that has been won by a Hawaiian resident at a Boyd Gaming downtown Las Vegas property in the first three months of 2022.

3. $1.66 million
In June, a slots player at 4 Bears Casino & Lodge, located in New Town, North Dakota, hit a jackpot totaling more than $1.6 million.

The player, Elton Spotted Horse from Mandaree, North Dakota, won $1,668,961.83 while playing Dancing Drums Explosion.

He won the million-dollar jackpot by matching three Explosion symbols in the Fu Babies bonus on a $5.88 bet.

2. $1.68 million
A Caesars Rewards customer from Monmouth County, New Jersey, became an instant millionaire on 17 December.

She hit a $1,681,458 mega jackpot on a progressive poker game at Harrah's Atlantic City after placing a $5 bet. The win marked the largest jackpot payout on a progressive poker game in Caesars Entertainment’s Atlantic City history.

After her big win, the customer spread the holiday spirit by tipping table games dealers at Harrah’s Resort $77,000.

1. $2.8 million
Golden Nugget - Atlantic City announced one lucky winner from New Jersey won a $2,839,342 progressive jackpot on 19 January.

Dave J. secured his winnings by betting a $6 wager on a Penny Monopoly Money Grab Machine and ultimately winning a progressive jackpot that had built its way to over a $2.8 million payout.
