Empire City Casino awards nearly $1 million win15 November 2022(PRESS RELEASE) -- Empire City Casino by MGM Resorts announced its largest jackpot of 2022 was won by a lucky Yonkers Resident. Walter, a Yonkers native, recently hit a $925,488 jackpot with a $20 bet on the IGT Wheel of Fortune Triple Stars slot machine, one of nearly 4,600 slots and electronic table games offered at Empire City. While the jackpot is the largest hit this year, it is not the largest currently available at Empire City. The gaming destination now features a jackpot exceeding $1 million, also on IGT Wheel of Fortune Triple Stars game. The second highest jackpot currently available is over $575,000 on Bally's Celestial King and the third highest is Bally’s Monopoly Millionaire at $490,000. More than 1,750 jackpots over $10,000 have been hit this year. The most recent winner to join the Empire City millionaire club was Domingo Rodriguez, a Bronx resident who hit a jackpot of $1.062 million in July 2021. The highest jackpot record at Empire City is held by Theresa P. of Ossining, NY with a $2,919,162.91 win, and she is also the only two-time member of the millionaire’s club having hit a jackpot of $1,469,368.28 just a few months shortly after her nearly $3 million win. Other members of the millionaire’s club include Linda P. of Connecticut who hit a $1,514,634.15 jackpot; Howard G. of Long Island, NY who won $1,473,503; and Linda H. of Thornwood, NY who took home a “nearly there” million-dollar jackpot of $961,411. Empire City boasts one of the largest casino floors in the country and is the largest gaming floor in the MGM Resorts portfolio with many other jackpots waiting to be won. In addition to the largest jackpot of the year being won recently, a Hartsdale resident drove off in a 2022 Chevy Silverado valued at over $50,000.
