16 December 2019

Many go through spending money on their families and friends during the Christmas season to exchange gifts. However, if you were lucky enough to walk out of a casino with over $900,000 in winnings, you may be more generous in the gifts you buy than before. As the year comes to a close with Christmas and New Year’s Eve approaching, we take a look at the top 10 land-based jackpots of 2019.

Any trip to Las Vegas can turn into an expensive one, but not if you end up hitting a $931,640 jackpot.

A Hawaiian resident at Main Street Station Casino Brewery and Hotel did just that when she played a Madonna slot machine on 7 October.

The winner landed four Madonna symbols and a wild around 6p.m. at the Boyd Gaming property. Imagine finding you won nearly $1 million when you first thought you were taking home a little over $9,000. She had to tell the slot attendant that she thought the payout was only $9,000, but was thrilled when she learned the true amount.

8. $935,176
On 21 September, Clint was headed to the movie theater at Aliante Casino Hotel and Spa in North Las Vegas and stopped by the casino for a few brief spins on a 25-cent slot machine.

The southern Nevada resident dropped $20 and parlayed a $1.25 spin on Wheel of Fortune, which turned out to land a jackpot for $935,176.

Winning that hefty amount just might have the popcorn tasting a little better at the movie for Clint.

Also in Downtown Las Vegas, an anonymous player at Fremont Hotel & Casino in November became a newly minted millionaire while playing the Wheel of Fortune slots.

The winner was a Hawaiian resident and on that Saturday evening, she hit a giant jackpot worth $1,098,478.
