Here we take a look at 10 facts and figures about this breathtaking resort, which opened its doors in May 1999 and went on to become one of the most iconic casino properties on the Las Vegas Strip. 10. The poker room The Venetian Las Vegas was in the 2016 list of top 10 casinos by number of poker tables. The 59 poker tables at the Las Vegas Strip resort include games such as Limit Hold’em, No Limit Hold’em, Omaha 8 or Better and Pot Limit Omaha. 9. The Grand Canal Over 500,000 guests ride the gondolas at the Grand Canal every year, but the real impressive number on the Grand Canal is the amount of water used. The entire canal holds 843,000 gallons. The inside holds 273,000, and the outside 570,000. It would take you 65 days to fill it with a garden hose, according to The Venetian Las Vegas.
8. $1.5 billion This is the amount of money that was spent to open the Las Vegas property back in May 1999. Sheldon Adelson decided to build the property in 1996, and three years later, one of the most expensive resorts at the time was introduced. Whether you love him or hate him, you've got to give props to the man for creating this masterpiece of a property. 7. The casino The Venetian Las Vegas has one of the largest casinos in Las Vegas, at over 138,000 square feet. The casino offers more than 225 tables, including a high-limit area with 60 tables. Between the Palazzo and Venetian casinos on the property, there are over 2,000 slot machines onsite. 6. The sportsbook The video screen at The Venetian Race & Sports Book is something to witness in person. It is capable of showing 42 separate events at the same time. While you are enjoying one of the possible 42 games being shown, you can sit down at one of the 118 personal betting stations inside the sportsbook to place your bets. The sportsbook has been a 24-hour establishment since it was opened back in 2011. At that time, it was the only Vegas sportsbook to be open for 24 hours. 5. TAO Nightclub TAO Nightclub opened up back in 2005 and has a reputation as one of the best nightclubs in Las Vegas. The 10,000-square-foot nightclub also includes a 40-foot outside terrace that overlooks the Las Vegas Strip for guests to enjoy. The venue has seen some big-name talent come through its doors, including Drake, Rihanna and Jay-Z. 4. The location The Venetian is in the middle of all the action on the Las Vegas Strip. It is right across the street from The Mirage and Treasure Island, and it is also just a quick walk from Caesars Palace, Bally's - Las Vegas, Bellagio and so much more. 3. Electra Cocktail Club In September 2018, the Electra Cocktail Club opened to round out The Venetian Cocktail Collective, comprised of Dorsey, Rosina and now, the Electra, located on the casino floor. Guests will be sure to hear something they like to listen to with the variety of music that is played. The playlist includes tracks from artists such as David Bowie, N.E.R.D., Cardi B, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, G-Eazy, the Talking Heads, Drake, Cage the Elephant, Portugal, the Man and the Rolling Stones.
2. Delmonico Steakhouse Listed as one of the top steakhouses in Las Vegas on Eater Vegas, Delmonico Steakhouse is owned by Chef Emeril Lagasse, a James Beard Award-winning chef. The restaurant was opened with the casino in May 1999 by Lagasse and was named to honor a Delmonico restaurant in New Orleans. 1. Madame Tussauds Madame Tussauds is an interactive wax museum at The Venetian Las Vegas. As part of the 20 years celebration, Madame Tussauds is bringing back the '90s. The attraction is featuring stars from the 1990s, including Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears.
The venue just introduced a virtual reality team-based adventure. You are set in the year 2217 and have to work with your teammates to accomplish challenges throughout the experience. Also located inside Madame Tussauds is the Hangover Bar. Opened in July 2018, this was the latest addition to Madame Tussauds Las Vegas and The Hangover Experience, which currently features the notorious hotel suite and wedding chapel, as well as figures of Alan (portrayed by Zach Galifianakis), Phil (portrayed by Bradley Cooper) and Mike Tyson.
