UAW files objection to Trump Marina vote

"The Detroit-based union filed an objection with the National Labor Relations Board on Thursday, one day before the deadline, and is asking the board to set aside results of the May 11 election and order another. The papers allege that the casino threatened and intimidated employees and favored anti-union employees even when doing so violated the company's workplace rules.

"...The filing against Trump Marina Hotel Casino contains a litany of charges: that the casino unilaterally changed the location of the election room in violation of the stipulated election agreement; that it threatened, intimidated and suspended a union supporter; and that it promoted and permitted access to anti-union supporters during work hours and in work areas while denying the same access to union supporters.

"The union also accused the casino of closing the employee parking lot to intimidate workers the day before and of the election; placing 'NO UAW' stickers on escalator handles leading up to the polling area; distributing anti-union stickers and buttons for employees; and coercing employees to read anti-union literature on the casino floor before the polls opened..."
