Trump Marina selected for NJ award2 October 2007ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Trump Entertainment Resorts, Inc. (Nasdaq: TRMP) (the "Company") today announced that Trump Marina Casino Hotel has been selected as the New Jersey Clean Energy Business Leader of the Year by the State of New Jersey Board of Public Utilities. The award comes as a result of Trump Marina's leadership in the Trump Entertainment Resorts energy conservation project being undertaken at the Company's three casino resorts in Atlantic City, NJ. Major projects under the initiative include the installation of energy efficient lighting, electric motors, automated building management systems extending to the guestrooms and water conservation initiatives. Altogether, the energy conservation project will produce estimated savings of the following amounts of electricity, natural gas and fuel oil each year: -- 151 million pounds of CO2; -- 227,066 pounds of NO2; -- 443,000 pounds of SO2. According to the equivalency calculator from the US Climate Gateway, these savings are equivalent to: -- Taking 1 million passenger cars off the road; -- The yearly electric use of 615,000 homes; -- The preservation of 40,000 acres of forestation; -- The energy from burning 24,000 rail cars of coal. In accepting the award, Joe Polisano, Vice President of Project Development for the Company, said, "Trump Entertainment Resorts wants to thank the State of New Jersey and the Board of Public Utilities for their leadership in energy conservation. This opportunity to simultaneously invest in our environment, invest in our economy and invest in our business was simply too good to let pass. This multimillion-dollar project, which began at Trump Marina last year, has the capacity to return the value of our investment in only a few years, and we hope that other companies will continue to make similar decisions in the future." |
