Repaired Joliet Casino to reopen

JOLIET, Illinois -- The Empress Casino, Joliet is scheduled to reopen this month as the Hollywood Casino Joliet, The Morris Daily Herald reported.

Just under two years ago the Empress Casino's entertainment pavilion was devastated by fire, the report explained.

At that time the casino had been undergoing a $50 million renovation when the structure was destroyed, the Morris Daily Herald said.

The casino reopened in June 2009 and this new entertainment pavilion will debut an entirely new art-deco look, the report noted.
