Red Hawk Casino First Responder recognized for life-saving efforts19 October 2012PLACERVILLE, California -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Tyler Ebinger is a Medical First Responder who has been with Red Hawk Casino two years. Recently Tyler was called to evaluate a 57-year-old guest who had just arrived at the casino when she began experiencing tightness and pain in her head, like none she had ever felt. Tyler performed a primary assessment of the guest and recognized that she needed further treatment, so he contacted the El Dorado County firefighter and emergency medical service team, who were at the casino for another call. The EMS team transported her to Marshall Medical Center. Executive Director of El Dorado County EMS Authority Marty Hackett said, "The well-coordinated and timely efforts of Tyler and the EMS team saved the guest's life. Having trained personnel immediately on scene administering first aid and supporting the patient until our advanced life support firefighter-paramedics arrive to take over is always beneficial to the patient, and there is a greater likelihood for patient survival." Just a few days later, Red Hawk Casino was contacted by the guest's niece to thank Tyler for his instrumental role in getting her aunt the medical assistance she needed. She reported that her aunt was diagnosed with a cerebral aneurism, underwent emergency surgery, and has a good prognosis. Red Hawk Casino employs a security team of 70 that includes eight Medical First Responders. The Medical First Responders at Red Hawk are certified through the State of California and National Registries, and update their certifications regularly. |
