Oklahoma Classics returns to Remington Park

7 October 2022

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Oklahoma Classics, a night when the best of Oklahoma-bred Thoroughbreds compete, is set for Friday, 21 October at Remington Park.

Oklahoma Classics – first held in 1993 – is Remington Park’s richest night of racing for Oklahoma-bred Thoroughbreds, with more than $1 million in purses offered over eight stakes races. It’s also become a night on which the track celebrates Oklahoma-owned businesses and nonprofits, a tradition that continues this year with the inaugural Oklahoma Craft Classics Beer Festival.

“Oklahoma Classics is one of Remington Park’s most treasured traditions and a time when we can celebrate the quality and tradition of racing in our state,” said Matt Vance, Remington Park’s executive vice president. “With the addition of the Craft Classics Beer Festival, we also get to spotlight Oklahoma businesses while supporting vital charitable organizations in our state. It will be a beautiful night at the track to celebrate Oklahoma.”

The Craft Classics Beer Festival will be held at Remington Park’s Track North from 5 to 9 p.m. and will feature products from Oklahoma-based breweries. VIP tickets are $45 and include one-hour early access to the festival, a tasting cup, a swag bag with snacks, a $5 racing voucher and a commemorative T-shirt for the first 100 fans. General Admission tickets are $35, with access from 6 to 9 p.m., a tasting cup and a $5 racing voucher. Tickets can be purchased at RemingtonPark.com. People must be at least 21 years of age with a valid photo ID to purchase tickets for the beer festival.

A portion of the event’s proceeds will benefit Remington Park’s partner charities and the United Way.

Breweries and vendors set to participate in the festival include Bricktown Brewery, Kochendorfer Brewing Co., Lost Street Brewing Company, Beer Hop OK, OKC Brew Tours, Expenditure Brewery, Stonecloud Brewing Company, Roughtail Brewing Co., Broke Brewing Company, Skydance Brewing Co., Elk Valley Brewing Co., Lively Beerworks, Boozy Jerky and The Brew Magazine.

Charities supported by Remington Park include Autism Oklahoma, the Family Awareness and Community Teamwork (FACT) Unit of Oklahoma City Police Department, Freedom School Oklahoma City, Inc., Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund, Positive Tomorrows, Wovenlife, Citizens Caring for Children, Kids Joining Eternity, Good Shepherd Clinic and Oklahoma Race Horse Retirement programs including Horse and Hound and the Oklahoma Thoroughbred Retirement Program.
