Remington Park commemorates casino’s 20th anniversary10 December 2025(PRESS RELEASE) -- Remington Park officials recently recognized the 20th anniversary of Remington Park Racetrack Casino through a celebration of the casino’s history, economic impact and long-standing service to the surrounding communities. Introduced in 1988 as the region’s premier horse racetrack, Remington Park opened its casino 28 November 2005, after the passage of State Question 712, also known as the State-Tribal Gaming Act, in 2004. This act legalized electronic gaming and enabled up to 750 electronic games at horse tracks throughout the state. Remington Park was purchased by Global Gaming Solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Chickasaw Nation, in 2010. “Oklahoma voters and their support for State Question 712 over 20 years ago helped make this milestone possible,” said Dan Boren, Global Gaming Solutions Board Chairman. “That support was the catalyst for Remington Park’s continued success and positive economic impacts to many areas of the Oklahoma economy, including education, the agricultural and equine industries, and the regional and local workforce.” Since the casino’s opening, Remington Park has contributed over $400 million to the Oklahoma state general education fund. Some economic studies suggest that the horse racing industry in Oklahoma supports as many as 40,000 jobs through direct and indirect impacts. “While the casino’s operations have infused the horse racing industry and enhanced entertainment options in the metro area, our team also has focused on helping our friends and neighbors in northeast Oklahoma City and the surrounding areas,” said Skip Seeley, Global Gaming President and CEO. “We have developed a special relationship with Millwood and numerous nonprofits who are doing good work and changing lives for the better every day.” Since Global Gaming Solutions began operating the property, Remington Park has supported the Millwood Public Schools District by contributing over $2.4 million in additional direct funding for district needs such as operational costs, special projects and other programs. RP Charities, the track’s fundraising program created in 2016, has raised over $4 million for its nonprofit partners. |
