Greektown manager targeted for murder

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Michigan -- As reported by the Detroit News: "A casino manager was targeted for murder, police said today, and investigators are looking into whether his job was connected to the killing.

"Richard Harrison Loury, a 50-year-old supervisor at the Greektown Casino, was fatally shot twice Wednesday night as he returned to his Clinton Township apartment complex after dropping his daughter off at his ex-wife's house.

"'This definitely doesn't appear to be random,' Clinton Township Lt. Mark Rybinski said. 'He was a target. Someone either followed him there, or waited for him. Right now, we don't know if his job at the casino had anything to do with this, but it's something we're looking into.'

"Wednesday was Loury's day off, although he did go to the casino for a meeting, Rybinski said.
