Gold Country Casino begins phased reopening on Friday

21 May 2020

The Tribal Council of the Berry Creek Rancheria of Maidu Indians of California announced on Wednesday that its Gold Country Casino & Hotel will begin a phased reopening on Friday, 22 May while unveiling a "new casino Floor layout featuring new carpet and tile, and adequately spaced slot machines."

Here is the message found on the casino's website:

To Our Valued Guests,

At Gold Country Casino Resort, we closed our doors in March to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, and keep our Team and our community safe. Over the past nine (9) weeks, these efforts have proven successful: the number of confirmed cases in Butte County has remained low, and all reports indicate that COVID-19 is beginning to “flatten”. Taking all into consideration, we believe that an incremental reopening of our facility is both plausible and prudent.

The first phase of our reopening will begin on May 22nd, 2020 at 12pm and focus entirely on our Slot Floor. We will phase in our other venues at a later date. We remain committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all and have taken great strides to ensure that end.

To enhance the standard of cleanliness that GCCR has always been known for, we have implemented new and ongoing measures for deep cleaning and sanitizing property wide. The Casino will also be screening Guests, Team Members and Vendors prior to entering the facility. Guests will be given full access to disinfecting wipes that will be conveniently located at our sanitizing stations. We feel that preventing a resurgence of this pandemic is everyone’s responsibility – we are all in this together.

Significant social distancing efforts will include a stunning new Casino Floor layout featuring new carpet and tile, and adequately spaced slot machines for your safety and comfort. Plexiglas shields will be installed in key locations across all venues. The Casino will require all Guests, Team Members and Vendors to wear masks while on property. Guests are encouraged to bring their own masks, as we will have a limited supply at the facility.

Thank you for your continued support and patience through this challenging transition — the health and wellness of our Community and Team Members remains our highest priority! We invite you to visit us on social media for details and regular updates.
