Gaming Changes Loom for Remington6 April 2004OKLAHOMA – As reported by the Oklahoman: ``At some point, alternative gaming will saddle up next to pari-mutuel wagering. When the state Legislature passed Senate Bill 553, it allowed Remington to add the Indian casino-style games. Horsemen will be affected, since the additional wagers will boost the purses by nearly three times their current standing. ``…Several horse players out Friday night for the opening of Remington's quarter horse season voiced their views. ```This is going to be great,' said Tabitha Forsythe of Jones. 'I go out to the casinos a lot, and I like to play the horses, too. I will play them both.' ``Magna Entertainment Corp., which owns Remington Park, is currently formulating its plans for the grandstand. It is not known where a casino will be located within the current facility…" |
