Foxwoods names new exec

MASHANTUCKET, Connecticut -- (PRESS RELEASE) -– Annette Bennitz has been appointed director of sales for Foxwoods Resort Casino and the soon-to-open MGM Grand at Foxwoods. In this role, Bennitz will oversee the direct sales efforts of Foxwoods' three existing hotel properties as well as the pre-opening sales for the MGM Grand at Foxwoods, scheduled to debut in spring 2008.

"We are delighted to welcome Annette to the Foxwoods sales team," said Joan Esneault, executive director of resort sales, Foxwoods Resort Casino and MGM Grand at Foxwoods. "Her extensive knowledge and experience in the hospitality arena is sure to benefit growing resort sales efforts."

With nearly 15 years of hospitality management experience, Bennitz brings a successful history of pro-active strategies and superior customer service approaches to her new role. Most recently, she held the position of director of sales, marketing and business development for ME Productions, an event production and destination management company based in Florida where she managed multiple offices and oversaw the creation of revenue-maximizing marketing plans. From 2001 to 2005, she worked as director of sales and catering for Casino Rama where she assisted in the grand opening of the world-class resort facility located in Lake Country, Ontario.

Bennitz has also held various positions at several successful hotel and resort properties, including director of convention and corporate sales at Canadian Niagara Hotels and Entertainment, sales manager at the Hotel Grand Pacific in Victoria, British Columbia and sales executive at Rimrock Resort Hotel in Banff, Alberta.

Bennitz received her Sales & Marketing Specialization Certification from the American Hotel & Motel Institute and is a member of several professional affiliations, including Meeting Professionals International (MPI) and Society of Association Executives (ASAE).
