Detroit casinos report February 2025 revenue12 March 2025(PRESS RELEASE) -- The three Detroit casinos reported $98.8 million in monthly aggregate revenue for the month of February 2025. Table games and slots generated $98.0 million in revenue and retail sports betting generated $815,561. The February market shares were: - MGM Grand Detroit Casino, 47% - MotorCity Casino, 29% - Hollywood Casino at Greektown, 24% Monthly Table Games, Slot Revenue, and Taxes The three Detroit casinos’ revenue for table games and slots for the month of February 2025 decreased 6.4% when compared to the same month last year. February’s monthly revenue was 4.2% lower when compared to the previous month, January 2025. From Jan. 1 through Feb. 28, the Detroit casinos’ table games and slots revenue increased by 0.8% compared to the same period last year. The casinos’ monthly gaming revenue results all decreased compared to February 2024: - MGM, down 5.9% to $46.4 million - MotorCity, down 10.1% to $28.4 million - Hollywood Casino at Greektown, down 2.7% to $23.2 million In February 2025, the three Detroit casinos paid $7.9 million in state gaming taxes. They paid $8.5 million for the same month last year. The casinos also reported submitting $11.7 million in wagering taxes and development agreement payments to the City of Detroit in February. Monthly Retail Sports Betting Revenue and Taxes The three Detroit casinos reported $8.2 million in total retail sports betting handle, and total gross receipts totaled $820,450 for the month of February. Retail sports betting qualified adjusted gross receipts were up by $940,414 in February when compared to February 2024, and down by $1.7 million when compared to January 2025. February QAGR by casino was: - MGM: $202,085 - MotorCity: $566,313 - Hollywood Casino at Greektown: $47,163 During February, the casinos paid $30,828 in gaming taxes to the state and reported submitting $37,679 in wagering taxes to the City of Detroit based on their retail sports betting revenue. Fantasy Contests For January 2025, fantasy contest operators reported total adjusted revenues of $1.3 million and paid taxes of $109,531. |
