Detroit casinos report $114.09 million in May 2026 revenue

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Detroit’s three commercial casinos reported $114.09 million in aggregate revenue for May 2026. Table games and slots generated $113.31 million, while retail sports betting produced $781,668 in qualified adjusted gross receipts.

May market shares were:

- MGM Grand Detroit Casino, 46%
- MotorCity Casino, 32%
- Hollywood Casino at Greektown, 22%

Table Games and Slot Revenue
May 2026 table games and slot revenue increased 0.5% compared with May 2025 but decreased 4.0% from April 2026. For the period January 1 through May 31, revenue was up by 1.2% year-over-year.

Casino-level results compared with May 2025 were:

- MGM: down 0.7% to $52.77 million
- MotorCity: up 4.8% to $35.55 million
- Hollywood Casino at Greektown: down 2.6% to $24.99 million

The casinos paid $9.18 million in state gaming taxes in May, compared with $9.13 million in May 2025. They also reported submitting $13.5 million in wagering taxes and development agreement payments to the City of Detroit.

Retail Sports Betting Revenue
Detroit casinos reported $7.21 million in total retail sports betting handle for May. Total gross receipts were $799,787. QAGR decreased by 39.0% from May 2025 and 6.7% from April 2026.

May QAGR by casino:

- MGM: $175,394
- MotorCity: $348,912
- Hollywood Casino at Greektown: $257,362

The casinos paid $29,547 in state taxes and submitted $36,113 in wagering taxes to the City of Detroit based on May retail sports betting activity.

Fantasy Contests
For April 2026, fantasy contest operators reported $522,402 in adjusted revenues and paid $43,882 in taxes.
