AC casinos pressured for unionization

ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey – As reported by the Press of Atlantic City: "In the battle that we'll call The United Auto Workers Union Versus Atlantic City Casinos, the score so far is UAW one, casinos zero after a majority of Caesars Atlantic City dealers voted mid-March for union representation.

"Now, other casinos are being put to the test after Caesars dealers became the first ever in this city to become unionized after other unions tried and failed. On Saturday, Trump Plaza dealers will vote whether they wish to be represented by the UAW. And Trump Marina dealers could soon be making that choice as well - the UAW said today it intends to file a petition with the National Labor Relations Board to represent them.

"The UAW has previously said that it's not 'us versus them,' though the relationship became slightly muddied after Caesars publicly alleged that the UAW held an unfair election by intimidating workers. Still, both sides made the staunchness of their positions clear through full-page advertisements in today's edition of The Press of Atlantic City…"
