Q. I have heard a couple things concerning video poker. First is that royal flushes hit roughly every 48,000 spins. I also have heard that when a machine is not being played, that it still continues to "spin" maybe hundreds of times per minute. Does that mean that a video poker machine may hit another royal flush maybe a few days after it hits?

Don't play when blackjacks pay 6-521 June 2011
As rules change in blackjack, so does our best strategy. In a six-deck game, basic strategy calls for doubling down on 11 against any dealer face-up card if the dealer hits soft 17, but not to double down against an ace if the dealer stands on all 17s.

Different video poker games, and different pay tables within the same game theme, have different payback percentages.
That's not because the odds of drawing any particular hand are different in one game than another. It's down to two factors: Some games pay more on winning hands than others, and player strategy changes to account for those differences in payoffs.
