Q. I have a question about the random number generator in slot machines. If there are 1,000 possible combinations, does the random number generator have to choose them all before there can be a new cycle? If that's the case, then wouldn't you want to leave a machine after a big hit, since that combination wouldn't be available?

Q. We just returned from a cruise and spent a limited time in the casino. One question I have is about playing video poker. When I place my bet, they take that amount from my bankroll. If I lose, the money has already been taken, OK. But, if I win, and the odds were 1-1, I get my money back, hence I haven't won anything. ... (read more)

Q. A fellow video poker player told me that, by Illinois law, video poker machines cannot have a pay table set to produce a 100% or higher return. I made an attempt to go though the Illinois Gaming Board site but got lost. Thought you might know the answer to that question.

Q. Some friends and I have a weekly poker game, and we have a question. Mostly we play ordinary stuff, with a lot of Hold'em and seven-card stud. Sometimes we have the high and low hands split the pot.

Q. I was told I could no longer play at a casino where my wife and I have played a long time.
