50-cent Bonus Poker or 25-cent Double Double Bonus video poker?

8 June 2019
Hi Stickman, I have a question. If having a sufficient bankroll is not an issue when one starts a gambling session, is 50 cent 8/5 BP the better choice or 25 cent DDB? I'm not sure if I'm comparing oranges to apples or there is a way to compute this. Have a great New Year and let 2019 be the year of many royal flushes. ... (read more)

Is this a new craps bet?

18 May 2019
From Joe in Peoria: Out of a clear blue sky the following idea for a new craps play occurred to me (at least it’s new to me): It’s a one-roll bet that the number you bet on will NOT roll; sort of the inverse of midnight, yo, etc. I suppose all numbers could be bet on, and the payoffs calculated accordingly. ... $1 8/5 vs. $5 9/6 Jacks or Better

4 May 2019
Jerry, I enjoy your columns very much, especially the ones about video poker. Although the conventional wisdom is to always play video poker at full coin to capture the royal bonus, I’m not sure that advice applies to the $1 player whose only choice at that level is an 8/5 game, as is often the case these days. ... Blackjack blues

20 April 2019
From Mike, My wife and I go to the casino at the same time, play at the same $5 blackjack table for the same amount of time. We both use basic strategy but I also use the Speed Count and tell her what to do. She also sometimes bets on hunches – and wins. Last year, 2018, we were at the casinos and played about 150 times each. ... (read more)

Playable video poker

30 March 2019
Hi Jerry, In reading your article about 8/5 Jacks or Better compared to 9/6, the problem is it is almost impossible to find 9/6 anymore. The real question is how low do we go in payback percentage before it is not reasonable to play at all? I guess it's similar to the blackjack question. What rules would cause us to stop playing? The casinos found it with 6:5 blackjack payoffs. ... (read more)

Hop bets at craps

16 March 2019
Stickman, I’ve seen many articles discussing house advantages on craps and how bad hop bets are. I don’t think I’ve ever seen what the house advantage is on hopping sevens, however. I am probably wrong but it seems like it would be low. If you bet all three combos for $1 each and hit one, it pays $15. ... (read more)

Odds bets at craps

2 March 2019
Hello Jerry, Enjoy the craps articles by you, Frank and others on Casino City Times. Have read many of Frank's books. I have played craps for many years, 5 count, dice influence (at least try!) and all sorts of other ways of try to get ahead. The one thing that still gets and puzzles me is how adding odds ... Still more on pass versus place betting

9 February 2019
I received a follow-up question to an article about pass/come bets vs. placing the number after the point is established. Jerry, Thanks for replying. One other question about this play. If I use the pass line for my initial bet, then I would have the benefit of the higher probability of a win on the come-out roll. ... (read more)

More on come vs. place bets

26 January 2019
Jerry, I’ve always played craps betting on the pass line with full odds and three numbers using the come, also taking full odds. On a recent visit to Las Vegas, a stickman suggested I try not playing the come but just placing the same amount of money bet on each of three numbers when they were thrown, as if I had three come bets. ... The 6/8 progression

12 January 2019
Jerry - I’ve been playing a slow negative progression only playing the 6 and 8 in craps and seem to be doing quite well with it. Basically, I am seeking a constant profit with each winning roll of the dice. My theory works like this: Level 1: 24 on 6 and 8, if lose move up to 60 each, if lose again move up to 180. ...
