Top 10 non-gambling activities at Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun20 October 2025
Let’s take a look at what non-gambling activities we suggest adding to your schedule. Being near the Boston area, these are the two casinos I go to the most often, outside of Encore Boston Harbor. 10. G Spa Whenever you go away, even if its for a night, relaxation is usually part of your goal. Hitting a spa can only help that case. Located inside the Fox Tower at Foxwoods, G Spa offers $80 day passes which give you access to the pool, whirlpools, saunas, and steam rooms. The massages typically range from 50 to 80 minutes and guests have plenty of options to pick from to bring their peacefulness to the right level. 9. Game On If you are looking for a bar that also has some activities inside, head over to Game On at Mohegan Sun. The 23,000 square-foot venue features a 65-foot bar, eight-lane bowling alley and 15 TV screens. That’s not all, guests can sip on a few drinks while enjoying some shuffleboard, cornhole and arcade games. If that isn’t enough, music lovers can show their skills with some karaoke. 8. Scorpion Bar I have been to Scorpion Bar inside Foxwoods multiple times and it’s never disappointed. The loaded nachos are a must get and you really can’t go wrong picking any of the taco choices on the menu, including the Crispy Baja tacos. If you aren’t looking for Mexican food, you can still take advantage of the different happy hour options this bar has to offer. There is a happy hour Monday through Friday from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., but also a late night happy hour Monday through Thursday from 9:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. with discounts on select apps and drinks. 7. The Farm Italy If Mexican food isn’t your thing and you are more of an Italian person, make your way to Mohegan and have dinner at The Farm Italy. It isn’t just a place for pasta dishes. There is a selection of steak cuts to pick from or options like pork chops and lamb are available. It also is not a bad option to end your meal with a nice espresso martini to keep your night going. 6. Mohegan Sun Arena Maybe after your dinner at The Farm Italy, you have plans to see a performance at Mohegan Sun Arena. The venue brings some of the biggest performers to Connecticut, including recent Mohegan Sun Arena Walk of Fame inductee Adam Sandler. Sandler performed on 25 and 26 September at the Arena. The venue is quite impressive, as it also hosts the WNBA’s Connecticut Sun and I have seen a couple of men’s college basketball games there as well.
5. Clay Pipe If you’re like me, when you go away, your eyes are always scanning around for a whiskey/cigar bar. When you step inside the Mohegan Sun cigar bar, you immediately get taken back by the more than 200 cigar options so you are going to find something you will like. Pair that with a glass of Macallan 12 year, or whatever your preference is, and you have yourself a blissful evening. There are a few TVs at the bar of Clay Pipe so you can catch a game at the same time if you like. 4. High Flyer While Clay Pipe is more my speed, heights is not my thing but for many, High Flyer has been talked about as a must do when at Foxwoods. The zipline takes off from 33 floors high and you will glide almost a mile long and you can reach speeds close to 60 mph, according to the resort’s website. You can see people going down the zipline and it looks pretty amazing as they fly over the tree line. While you are 350 feet in the air, you will be able to take in all the views in the area.
3. Go Karts MONZA Go Karts inside Foxwoods is an incredible experience. I have done this twice now and the first time I went, I was not anticipating the speed. Let’s just say, you are MOVING. If you want to just do one race, it will cost $32. This will get you a more than seven-minute race on the 14-turn track, use of the safety equipment, and a locker to put your phone, wallet, etc. It is great to fly by the live scoreboard to see your time and race against your friends in some “harmless” competition. I say “harmless” because there were definitely some bumping taking place during my races with a few friends. 2. Golf In addition to looking for a cigar bar, if I hear the world “golf”, I am usually an automatic sign up. Both Foxwoods and Mohegan have golf courses nearby. The Mohegan Sun Golf Club offers a practice facility with the course, along with the Greenside Grille and Pub if you want to grab a burger and beer after your outing to recap the round or maybe gloat to your group a little if you had a good round. Lake of Isles at Foxwoods has two courses. The North course is for the public and the South course is for members only. Similar to Greenside Grille, Lake of Isles has Matches Tavern for a casual lunch or dinner experience. 1. Top Golf Swing Suite While you may want to play golf, not everyone in your group may be into golfing so you can try to find a happy medium and rent a bay at Top Golf Swing Suite in Foxwoods. Even though by the name, it isn’t just virtual golf. While you can play golf on the simulator, there are many more games to play, including soccer, baseball and football to name a few. I have done this and would 10/10 recommend. It is a blast and I will admit, I should never try to be a quarterback after my three interception performance in the football game here.
