With the Chicago Bulls struggling of late, Wilson is going to be a major part of the rebuild and he will be getting a lot of minutes, which means plenty of chances to boost his resume to win Rookie of the Year. Bet $100 to win $350 8. Magic to make the playoffs Last season, the Orlando Magic were in the play-in games and snuck out and made it into the playoffs. The injury bug was a big issue for the Magic, but they are bringing back their starting five along with several key bench players. Having your core back is a massive advantage to have. These guys know how to play with each other, rotations are easily to map out, and if they can remain healthy, the Magic can be a very difficult out in an improving Eastern Conference. Led by Paolo Banchero, Orlando has plenty of help for the former No. 1 pick out of Duke. Franz Wagner and Wendell Cart Jr. round out the front court and the shooting ability of Desmond Bane and playmaking ability of Jalen Suggs are present in the backcourt. 7. Lakers to win the Pacific One of the biggest moves made this offseason was LeBron James joining the Philadelphia 76ers after Philly traded for Jaylen Brown. James leaves Luka Doncic with the Los Angeles Lakers but that doesn’t mean the Lakers won’t be successful. On the contrary, Doncic is more than capable of carrying a team on his own. Luka’s guard duo, Austin Reaves, has improved his scoring per game in every season this year. Playing alongside a playmaker like Doncic, Reaves should continue his scoring and really help this team be successful. A major get for the Lakers this offseason was bringing in Walker Kessler from Utah. Kessler dealt with injury issues last year but averaged a double-double the previous year with the Jazz. At 7-foot-2, Kessler is an obvious rim protector, which LA has missed. It may not be the most outstanding roster, but they have players that compliment each other and can fight off the Warriors for the division title. Bet $125 to win $100 6. Gobert to lead league in rebounds per game We already mentioned Gobert’s size, but let’s get into it a little more. The big man from France is always in the running for most rebounds per game. Last season, he finished in fifth, second in 2023-2024, and won the title in 2021-2022. At 34 years old, you do have to be careful with how many minutes he plays per game, but even last year, Gobert played over 31 minutes per game. The center position is also not very deep for the Timberwolves so he will have to keep his minutes up if this team wants to be in positions to win. You should expect to see him in there during crunch time almost every game and grabbing most of the boards. Bet $100 to win $1,000 5. Doncic to lead the league in points per game Even being paired with LeBron, Luka still managed to lead the league in points per game last year with 33.5 points per contest. Now you lose LeBron to Philly and more shots go to Doncic and Reaves for the Lakers. More shots will equal more points. I am not saying he will blow by 33.5 points per game but he should be around a similar number this year. He will need to be at that level of play for the Lakers to have the year they are hoping for. 4. Cavaliers to win the Central The Central Division was controlled the entire season by Detroit last year. The Pistons won the division by eight games over the Cavs, but things can definitely shake out differently now. The Pistons have their top players returning and John Collins was added for front court depth. However, Jalen Duren is in a contract dispute with the Pistons and has not shown up to training camp yet. That would be a big blow to the Pistons if he misses some time. On the other side, the Cavs are lead by Donovan Mitchell and he’s accompanied by James Harden, making them one of the most dangerous backcourts in the East. If you are trying to score at the rim against the Cavs, you may run into a couple of problems and their names are Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen. An underrated addition for Cleveland is acquiring Peyton Watson from Denver who took a big leap last year and can really help the Cavs takeover the Central. Bet $100 to win $180 3. Watson to win MIP Continuing on Watson, the former first-rounder from UCLA pushed his points per game from 8.1 to 14.6 last year. Watson also shot the ball well by knocking down 41% of his three-point attempts. With ball handlers like Mitchell and Harden on the team, defenses will have a lot of their focus on them, in addition to the lob threats of Mobley and Allen. This will give Watson plenty of catch and shoot chances. After knocking down a few, defenses will have to play more up on him, giving him opportunities to blow by defenders and get to the rim and the foul line. Bet $100 to win $2,000 2. Jokic to win MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has won the MVP award the last two years, but let’s not forget the man who won three out of four prior to Shai winning. You may think you have him guarded well, but he will someone get around you and finish at the rim. Jalen Williams, when healthy, is a great two-way player who can guard a team’s top offensive threat, and then go down the other end and give you buckets. The two key big men at Chet Holmgren and Isaiah Hartenstein. Holmgren can stretch the floor with his ability to knock down shots and Hartenstein can bang around inside and be physical to cause issues in the paint.
