After sifting through this year WSOPE Media Guide, we present 10 stats and tidbits you need to know about this year’s tournament before the cards go into the air tomorrow: 10. 21 That is the number of different nations that have won a WSOP gold bracelet throughout the WSOPE. The U.S. leads the way with 14 gold bracelets, followed by the U.K. with six and France with five. Will the U.S. extend its lead, or will another nation close the gap after this year’s tournament? 9. €550 - €100,000 That is the range of the buy-ins at this year’s gold bracelet events. The lowest buy-in is for event #1, The Colossus – No-Limit Hold’em, starting on 9 October. The most expensive buy-in is event #9, The Super High Roller event, a new event for 2018. 8. 10 That is the number of official WSOP gold bracelet events that will be held at King’s Casino this year. There have been a total of 59 gold bracelet events in the history of the World Series of Poker Europe. As mentioned before, 21 nations have claimed a gold bracelet on European soil, and there are 10 more chances this year for those nations to add to their total or for a few nation to be added to the list. 7. €13,400,000 That is the amount of money guaranteed to be paid out for the 2018 WSOPE. In 2017, also at King’s Casino, the tournament set a record for most guarantees with €18,000,000. The 2017 WSOPE was the largest poker series ever held in Europe, according to the media guide. The Czech Republic casino held the World Series of Poker Europe last year and has also held several World Series of Poker International Circuit events in recent years. This is the first time in six years that the WSOPE will be held in the same location since it was held at Casino Barrière de Cannes Croisette in Cannes, France, in 2011 and 2012. 4. 4,115 That is the number of entrants for the Colossus No-Limit Hold’em event at the WSOPE in 2017. This year, the tournament looks to set a new record for Main Event entries. 2. 15 That is the number of gold bracelets won by Phil Hellmuth, which is the all-time record. The Poker Brat is also fifth on the all-time money list for the WSOP, with over $14.5 million in earnings.
