Casino City’s Friday Five: Openings, jackpots and free March Madness brackets edition

13 March 2026

A new Bally’s property is making its debut today in Iowa, but that is not all this week. In addition, we have a Henderson resort releasing new suites, a new blackjack game from the World Series of Poker, a five-figure slot win from Florida, and a new free way to enjoy March Madness.
Let’s begin with a big win:

5. $90,848 slot win at Seminole Brighton Bay Casino
A guest claimed a $90,848 progressive jackpot 7 March at Seminole Brighton Bay Hotel & Casino in Florida.

The winner hit the progressive jackpot on a Mo Mo Mo Mummy slot machine with a $16 bet. The progressive jackpot has since reset to $80,000.

4. WSOP launches new blackjack game mode
World Series of Poker, the free-to-play mobile poker game from Playtika, announced the launch of a new blackjack game mode.

The new mode includes Poker Power Jackpot, the main side bet within WSOP Blackjack. Poker Power Jackpot pays based on a three-card poker hand created from the player's first two cards and the dealer's upcard, incorporating poker hand rankings into the blackjack format. Players will also meet Sofia, the new in-game blackjack dealer.

3. Odditt launches free March Madness bracket tool
A new free tool from sports data company Odditt is built for those who don't follow college basketball, but still want to participate in March Madness.

Bracket Party allows anyone to build a complete NCAA tournament bracket — men's or women's — without any knowledge of basketball. Rather than picking winners for each game, users answer questions about their favorite colors, jersey numbers, mascots, zodiac signs, and more. The platform's scoring engine combines those preferences with real team data to generate a personalized bracket and explains exactly why every pick was made.

Users can build and share brackets using last year's tournament data, with full brackets for both the men's and women's tournaments available following Selection Sunday on 15 March.

2. Bally’s Marquette officially opens today
Bally’s Marquette will officially open its new, 31,280-square-foot gaming and entertainment destination today, completing a $26.2 million transformation from its historic riverboat casino into a permanent, modern facility on land.

Inside the Iowa property, two levels of gaming will more than 400 slot machines alongside electronic table games, live blackjack and Ultimate Texas Hold’em and a modern sportsbook.

The property will also debut an expanded portfolio of dining and beverage concepts designed to complement the gaming experience, including 1994 Sports Bar and Sidecar Bar.

1. Green Valley Ranch Resort unveils new suites
Green Valley Ranch Resort, Spa and Casino debuted its reimagined West Tower luxury suites, capping the completion of the West Tower’s full renovation as part of the Nevada property’s landmark multi-phase, $200 million transformation which includes all 71 luxury suites and 422 rooms as work continues on its East Tower set to unveil later this year.

This milestone includes the recent unveiling of the resort’s West Tower guest rooms, as well as the forthcoming meetings and convention spaces renovations, set to be revealed in the first quarter of this year, and the East Tower and South Lobby renovations slated for completion later in 2026.

Green Valley Ranch’s two-bedroom Strip Suite span’s 2,790 square feet with 180-degree views of the Las Vegas Strip. The Luxury Patio Suites are 1,190 square feet with a spacious foyer leading to a living area that features seating, a walk-around bar, and dining accommodations for entertaining.
