Casino City’s Friday Five: Las Vegas casino openings edition

25 September 2020

Over the last couple of months we have seen many Las Vegas resorts and casinos reopen to the public after an extended time shut down due to COVID-19. However, as more things reopen their doors, we can’t overlook the grand openings in Las Vegas that have been planned for some time now. In addition to all of the Sin City news, we have a bonus offer and free spins offer at Intertops Casino Red.
Let’s get into it with some free spins:

5. Intertops Casino Red offering bonuses on Witchy Wins
Until Halloween, depositing players at Intertops Casino Red receive 50 free spins on the new Witchy Wins and get up to $3,000 in bonus cash.

“I don’t know what came over me when I doubled the bonus this time,” laughed Intertops Casino’s manager. “It’s like I was under a spell!”

Witchy Wins’ Wild symbol is a bubbling cauldron. It can randomly morph into a golden cauldron and become a multiplying wild that multiplies wins up to 4x.

Scatters trigger up to 50 free spins with the new wild reels feature. During free spins, one entire reel is always wild.

4. Grand Traverse Resort and Casinos opens first Michigan sportsbook
On Wednesday, William Hill U.S. and Grand Traverse Resort & Casinos officially opened their first Michigan sports books at Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel along with a satellite location at Leelanau Sands Casino & Lodge.

The opening ceremony included a ribbon-cutting with National Indian Gaming Association Chairman Ernest L. Stevens, Jr., followed by a ceremonial first bet placed by NBA All-Star Rick Mahorn.

The Onyx Sports Book by William Hill at Turtle Creek Casino features two ticket windows and two kiosks, adjacent to the popular table games and slot machines on the casino floor. The sports book also offers 20 high-definition televisions, complimentary games, food and beverages, and an outdoor patio.

The satellite location at Leelanau Sands Casino includes two kiosks for sports betting available daily from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m.

3. Resorts World Las Vegas unveils new guest rooms and suites
The introduction of Crockfords Las Vegas, LXR Hotels & Resorts will present guests with approximately 230 guestrooms and suites, upscale amenities and highly personalized service. This all comes to life when the Las Vegas resort officially opens in summer 2021.

The 550-square-foot guestrooms feature one king or two queen beds and elevated amenities, including sophisticated minibar options. Upgraded bathrooms are designed with polished metal fixtures, a modern dual sink vanity, a separate water closet with a vibrant light blue glass enclosure, and Volakas marble with delicate veining.

The rooms vary from guestrooms and suites all the way to the Chairman’s Villa, which is a 6,000-square-foot private escape located on the 65th floor with a private balcony boasting panoramic views of the Las Vegas Strip.

2. Wynn Las Vegas to reopen Wynn Poker Room
Next week on 30 September, the Wynn Poker Room located in the Encore Resort’s casino will reopen for the first time since shutting down back in March.

The Poker Room will resume operations seven days a week and 24 hours a day.

"We are thrilled to welcome guests back to the Poker Room," said Ryan Beauregard, executive director of poker operations at Wynn Las Vegas. "Our team is looking forward to delivering the same exceptional poker experience Wynn has always been known for in a safe and enjoyable environment for all."

1. Virgin Hotels Las Vegas announces grand opening date

The revitalized property, located at the former site of the Hard Rock Casino Hotel just off The Strip, will open as Virgin Hotels Las Vegas with opening date, 15 January 2021, being revealed on a digital mobile billboard.
